Arturia releases Matrix 12v and Solina V

edited December 2014 in General App Discussion

Sorry, only PC/Mac YET but since i'm a huge fan of the iSEM i really really hope they would port the Matrix to iOS (i always wanted the damn Xpander) but a string orchestra on ipad would als be a very welcome addition.

And yes,i would even buy it in a heartbeat if it doesn't come from Tempo Rubato but this other company.... ;-)

So,what are our options to push them a little?

  • Both exciting developments. I used to have a Matrix Rack many years ago and was very fond of the sounds. I hope that Arturia will bring all their instruments to ios.

  • Given time, I think it will happen regardless, Arturia are already doing that, real question should be what other developers can we bring across. But that may even be mute if we end up with OSX-iOS, then the mountain will have arrived.

  • Matrix 12 please! Rolf please!

I had a M1000 plus the Access programmer, was a great combo (although sysex is,quite slow on this synths).

I was never a huge fan of the"Arturia sound"but the iSem changed my view and is one of my favorites.I don't care how close or not it comes to the real thing though.I saw people writing in other forums that the Matrix 12v doesn't sound very good but the same people are saying that about the virtual SEM as well.So i would buy it in a heartbeat if the Matrix plays in the same league nonetheless ;)

  • The best matrix emulation I have heard is the OP-X Pro II... pity it's Windows only.

There is also the OBXd, which is FREE for both Mac and Windows, and definitely worth checking out.

  • I wasn't going to post thus here as its not iOS but since it has a thread I will, and it may get iOS anyway

  • This beast on our iPad = instant buy (idem for OBX, OBX-A, OBX-8...)

  • mmmh,a quick look on their Jupiter or CS80 shows that they wouldn't fit onto the screen without a hell lot of (re)work. But the Matrix could fit.Just a little changes here and there... :)

Unfortunately definitely to small for a Mini iPad but Apple wants to get rid of them anyway :)

  • Nice notice @crabman. I'm going with optimism: iOS is making them money and they decided to start this one with the iPad's aspect ratio in mind.

They could kill the knobs and make the numeric displays all draggable up/down with a little pop up read out. Generally, I love the way the reimagined the interface. The original is chock full of modes where the same buttons/knobs do different things depending on the mode.

  • They could also use two edit pages like on this pic.Would be perfect size although no keyboard yet,i know :)

  • What is your opinion about Spark LE is it good? The hardware and software

  • edited December 2014

I love the all-on-one page thing though. That said, it might be nice to have a page with all of the envelopes and LFOs exposed (instead of hiding behind tabs). So, one tap to see all of them instead of 10 taps to see 2 at a time.

  • personally I think there are better beatmachines than the spark and and in my opinion there are better sample libraries than what the spark offers too. I'd start with gold baby samples and some other beat machine like maschine etc..

  • Agreed. Compared to Maschine, Spark is like a cheap toy.

Used to have unfettered access to an Xpander at my school in the 80s. I miss it greatly. I would do a backflip for a well done iOS implementation.

  • Didn't think Spark was all samples, isn't it TAE as well?

  • The Matrix has some 'Crazy' filter types, anybody used any of the non-standard types?
