New to the Forum

Hello all! New to the forum, not new to iOS music production and sound design. Decided to join to get some input on different apps and workflows. And I’ve heard good things about the community over the past several years.

  • Welcome! Pleasure to meet you. I wonder, can you tell us a bit more about what type of music you like to produce and what apps you gravitate towards? ☺️

  • @jwmmakerofmusic thank you for asking! I’ve tried my hand at just about everything from modern rap beats to lofi to EDM. I’ve determined my neurospicy brain gets overwhelmed and too wrapped up in the details if I try to really compose and master a song though.

So I’ve turned my focus toward ambient music and soundscapes. I really enjoy the sound design process more than the actual composition process so it works. Plus I can crank out something satisfying pretty quickly which is great since my creative time is fairly limited these days.

Primary apps in my current workflow: AUM, Agonizer, Shockwave, BLEASS Alpha, Mononoke, Spatializer, and a handful of BLEASS and ToneBoosters effects. Also a big fan of Koala and Pure Acid, stoked that Endlesss is back in business, and just picked up Battlestation Groovebox.

Hey mate, that's awesome to hear. I'm also neurospicy, and I understand that feeling of getting overwhelmed and wrapped up in the details.

I really enjoy sound design and crafting Ambient too. It actually quiets my brain down, and I love creating live recordings of my Ambient stuff.

For evolving soundscapes, have you tried Bleass Megalit yet? Thing is a f-ing beast and well worth the investment if you don't have it already.

Is there anywhere I can listen to your current musical output? :) Like a Soundcloud account or Youtube channel?

I haven’t tried Megalith yet. I’ll have to look into it and see how it compares to Alpha and some of the other stuff I have.

I don’t have anything setup currently. But I’m working on getting a SoundCloud and possibly YouTube setup once I have enough stuff worth sharing. The name, logo, and making this a formal project is all pretty new 😅

On Soundcloud, I don't have a logo. I just have my face (same profile pic as here). I know, "oh so imaginative", lol. Well, I used to dabble with AI slop to generate images for releases on Soundcloud but have since abandoned that b.s. in early 2025. I just release on a whim. :)

Megalit is a beast. It comes equipped with a ton of wavetables, four separate LFOs which can control up to two parameters each (so eight parameters in total controlled by four LFOs), a robust effects section, etc. Oh man, I'm getting rather fired up for creating some Ambient soon. I haven't really created any new music of note recently.

That sounds pretty beastly. I can already do so much with Alpha, I can imagine Megalit just amplifies that.

  • Welcome @LoopRabbit happy to have you aboard! Cheers.
