Remove midi device from iPad
Hi all,
I recently bought a second hand Novation Impulse. Tried it out on my iPad, everything worked great. After that I updated the firmware using my MacBook, which made the keyboard HUI compatible (love to have that for Cubasis). The instructions told me it was necessary to remove the device from the Audio Midi Setup app, and that it is also necessary on previously connected computers. Now the HUI thing works great on my MacBook, but my iPad doesn’t see the added HUI midi port.
How on earth can I remove the keyboard from my iPads memory and see it as a ‘new’ device? I have already restarted the iPad a few times, but no luck…
Would be great if anyone can help or suggest what to try…

Apart from doing a complete fresh re-install and NOT restoring from a Backup I don't any other ways to do this...
I have been sending Apple feedback requests every year when a new iPadOS version pops asking for a Audio Midi Setup app for iPadOS but so far nada...
...as we can not access and manually delete any system files it's a limbo situation unless there's some clever developers here who have found a way to work around this?!
Oh my, that’s a big omission from apple @Samu! Was already prepared for this answer and it definitely isn’t worth a fresh install for me! Well, let’s do some midi mapping and forget about it 😅
Thanks for the help and let’s hope for an update someday.
Heard one tip that turning off the device and waiting for ~10 minutes before turning it on again could work in some cases...
Guess it's worth trying at least?
It isn’t clear that the issue being discussed is the result of something that needs to be uninstalled.
The mention of “Audio MIDI Setup” in the initial message applies to Macs and isn’t relevant to iOS.
I would contact Novation to find out if that port is expected to be visible on iOS. A web search I did uncovered a discussion on the Auria Pro forum saying that the HUI port wasnt being seen in ioS
I’ll give it a try, hoping for the miracle…
Edit: no luck!
That’s very interesting, I’m going to have a search too. Thank you!
