Re: Recommend and Interface
I'm looking for confirmation for a simplest connection for my rig.
I need stereo in and out of my iPhone 5s. I don't care if it's via Lightning (preferred) or audio. I already have a Presonus interface that goes to my (older) Mac. The included DAW mixes 3 audio channels and many MIDI instruments. I would love to run the mix to Loopy and Audiobus chains in my phone but can't get confirmation of actual i/o options. The ability to MIDI control Loopy is an added bonus. Any suggestions?

Have you tried to hook your presonus up to your iPhone via the camera connection kit? If it requires too much power and you get a message about an unsupported device, you could try running through a powered usb hub first. That's what I do with my presonus. I'm running into an iPad Air, typically, but the theory should stand for the iPhone as well. Worth a shot before you shell out a bunch of money for a new one.
A Lightning CCK is definitely on order as I'm sure I'll be using it somewhere in the future. Alas, the Presonus is FireWire so I'm stuck using my Mac as my main mixer; not a bad thing, really.
I am hoping to use my iPhone and all its audio/synth output as an added instrument sent to a different track in my pre-existing Mac DAW setup (Presonus Studio One or S1). Also I would love to replace my Digitech Jamman with "Loopy" which means routing my audio signal: from instrument to interface, through MAC and DAW out to iOS Loopy and back.
I guess I really just want to replace my Jamman with Loopy. I'm just not sure how the audio can be sent. It would be SOOO nice if I could just plug in lightning to USB-A and the Mac would recognize the iPhone as a peripheral.

DING! Thank you. It seemed strange that there was nothing like this on the market. I play live improv every day for college classes and I need as many sounds as possible for 12 compositions/day. Looping is an asset but I take my tempo from someone else on the fly and can't stop the class to punch in a tempo that matches whatever "1-2-ready-go" is.
The 4+ has a network connection and will likely work with my other rig which includes a Receptor Trio. It may be useful in this situation.
Hello, anyone can suggest an audio interface for iPad with an internal mic? I would like to record voice directly without any mic
There's a few options:
mic only:
Apogee Mic
Shure MV5
Mic and line in:
Shure MV58
Apogee One
Line 6 Sonic Port VX
One drawback of the Line 6 device is that you can't use the microphone and the line in at the same time, which means you can't record guitar + vocals together.
Or there is this one

The Zoom H5 is a great recorder and can act as an audio interface also (compatible with iPad).
There's a bunch of stereo microphones such the Rode IXY, Zoom IQ 5, Zoom IQ 6, Zoom IQ7, iTrack Pocket, Blue Mikey etc... but I would imagine for vocals a condenser mic would be a much better bet. My personal choice would be for the Shure MV58 or the Apogee One. YMMV.
