ROCK DRUM MACHINE.. in a song?recording?
rock drum machine users? ok i love rock DM app but when recording rock dm via.. audiobus into cubasis.. what do you guys do to change the drum groove and add fills.? do you record/stop/change/record/stop/change?
Comments
I'd like to know this as well, for recording in Auria.
I tried the light version "free" . What a piece of shit...Infested with advertisement and when I cut internet I get a white bar blocking good part of of the app and every 2 minutes or so it actually stops the machine, making it UNUSABLE and insists that you buy the full version for $9,99...WTF?
It is already crippled with only 3 tracks and for $9.99 I picked up Korg's iElectribe.
So this guy Luis Martinez can go $%&^#& off.
Luis Martinez stops in at this forum from time to time and he seems like a really nice guy. He listened to what members said about what he could do to improve RDM and then he did it. The last update was AWESOME. If you don't like a free app just delete it. No need to be harsh on Luis. And you're missing out on one of the best drum machines in iOS.
Well I wish he would stop by and read my message. Maybe it will make him think twice about doing that type of crap.
And why wouldn't he listen? It's users that send him $$ no?
Sorry you feel that way, but if you give something for free, you don't make it stop every 2 minutes to buy a full version, do you???
It already has only 3 tracks instead of 5, so what in his opinion is a FREE version that runs for more than 2 minutes?... 1-track?
I hate false advertisement, and your buddy Luis reeks of it
As far as one of best drum machines...LOL...kidding right? can you even play anything other than 4/4?
Drumperfect is very good. has many features, such as dynamic range, simulating a real performance. Great support too.

Not users of free versions with an overdeveloped sense of entitlement it's not!

I'm also curious about the original post.

I can. Can you?
The OP had a good question. I'm also interested to hear what you all have to say.
I would imagine that would be the easiest way to do it, although I wouldn't bother stopping the recorder, I'd cut it up later. I think rock drum machine is good and the new features are cool, takes it beyond many drum machines, but it's a different idea than something like ez drummer.
I'm looking forward to drum session, or perhaps apple adding the "drummer" from the desktop GarageBand to iOS. I tend to use a real drummer when at all possible, but these programs can make good tracks in a different way. I don't look at rock drum machine in a way to build a structured song, but it is worth trying.
That's a good point about letting the recorder run, then cutting it up later.
I just discovered Werkbench for rhythm! I am having a ball with it. Impaktor, Werkbench, and rock drums dm! I'ts like heaven for drummies!
Heaven for Dummies
C'mon. Could be huge.
This is off topic, and I apologize for that, but Triton and Goodyear started it. I had a wild dream last night about being at a church service that had a superbly talented gospel band. It was kind of a rock-soul-funk gospel as if the Supremes and Aretha Franklin got together with the Meters and Galactic and then kicked it up several notches just to energize the congregation. I don't typically go to church, but this service in the dream was one form of musical heaven. The gospel band had a name and they sold their CDs from the church library. I was so happy, but I woke up before I had a chance to play the imaginary CDs. If I'm lucky then I'll dream the band up again sometime.
That's Doctor Goodyear to you And in divinity as well, which seems appropriate. Good dream though, next time take your iPad to bed with you....

I'm happy that there was a point, I read what I wrote again and wasn't sure!
Hello. You can try adding the rhythms to favorites in order, record and go changing grooves at real time.
At first I never thought RDM should have a structure for songs, but obviously, according to the users, the next important upgrade should include a kind of song mode.
I like to keep simplicity on the user interface of my apps and make the hard work on the background, as you can see, that's why the song mode is not included at the moment. I have to think how to implement it and keep it easy. Thanks for your comments, it's essential for knowing what's next on the apps.
@soundklinik Make an app is a hard job. Lots of hours learning, coding, testing, etc... That's why the apps have a price or ads, developers need money for survive. I'm sure you don't like to work for free. Anyway, you didn't pay anything, if you don't like just delete it
@LuisMartinez I can only speak for myself (what else can any man really do , but I appreciate you coming to this forum, sharing and talking and listening. It is a good place to get new ideas for you as well of course, but it is -almost always- a civil and respectful no-man's-land between users and developers. Keep up the good work, especially if that good work includes a song mode
Sometimes a Free app is to allow the prospective buyer to see what the app is like before they buy it so they don't waste their money on something they don't want. I assume that this is the case with Rock Drum Machine. It is not meant to be a Free 100% workable app. I downloaded the Free version and when I saw what it was capable of doing I bought the Real app. Luis is right in asking anyone complaining if they work for Free.
I was using it to practice to this morning and the jam feature is very cool. I wasn't thinking of it to make specific drum parts, but I love that the groove is not just repetitive now. That's a great drum machine feature.
Wow! So grateful Luis that you are willing to listen to our wishes. This app is so inspiring to me. I was looking for something like this and I'm so glad
I found it here. If you get a chance check out Jamstix virtual drummer on the PC. I have it and your app is the only one that comes close to being that virtual drummer. I hope we can get that song structure in the next update. Would be nice to select intro, verse, bridge, chorus, etc etc. And have it start/stop options with tempo sync.
I am not a drummer just guitar and keyboards but this app seriously gets me to write music. It is super easy to use. I really appreciate that.
Luis, something you can do, is give the user the ability to choose advanced options, or advanced user and put all these advance options in there. Thnks for listening.
Ps..could you also put automation recording in Jamming or where needed on your list, this way it will remember what selection we made.
Also, could you instead of having a rolling wheel to select stuff, could you make it a flat list? At least as an option. This will make it a lot easier to select stuff more rapidly instead of hit and miss with the wheel she trying to lay the track in real time as you suggested.
And a dedicated fill trigger option, like Fill 1,2,3,4 that would rock! Thank you Luis, may you be blessed and prosper in all you do.
Is there a way to have RDM be a sound source for external midi loops? I mean as an update?
