Mononoke: A Display in Versatility

I just need to take a minute and say how much I love Mononoke and the sounds it can produce. It can be a gentle, relaxing instrument of meditation. And it can be the growlingest dirty bass imaginable. I knew when this thing first came out, that is love it. But I honestly wasn’t sure how much I’d actually use it beyond the meditative aspect. But it can add so much flavor and texture, it’s unreal.

I invite anyone to share links to songs/recordings that use Mononoke so we can all celebrate its usefulness. Below are a couple of my own, each one having Mononoke as one of two instruments plus a handful of effects.

  • Good stuff, Mononoke has been on the radar- you using MPE?

    Digital Glacier is my favorite. Really dig the growls on Ex Machina too

    Thanks! Ex Machina uses the MPE. The other two use MIDI input via EG Nodes generator routed through Harmonicer.

    continua, Dinasinth and Stria would sound really good with Mononoke I think.

    Thx @LoopRabbit

    The more I watch and hear Mononoke I feel like I have nothing like it in my arsenal without having to use 4 different apesoft apps, spectral, and chorus'

    I have and love Continua, but I do most of my work on my phone, so it’s not of much use to me sadly.

    Mononoke is one of my favorite synths. I always look for it and make new patches to play with. I pair it with salome keyboard

  • @Prog1967 didn't know you could even do that! Can you use Mononoke's keyboard with Salome?

    @egobeats
    You can do both. Mononoke's pads onto salome or salome's keyboard onto mononoke. Just open a midi channel and any of those keyboards and connect it to any of those synths (using AUM)
