Sending MIDI CC from iPad to hardware

What’s the quickest, easiest way to do that: Envelopes, LFOs, sequences, etc., in particular, but also various other MIDI messages?

Drambo comes to mind as always, but I’m not familar with this whole process (sending very specific MIDI information from my iPad to hardware gear), so I could be way off.

Comments

  • I’ve done it with MiRack. Also done it with AUM (plus some AUv3). And yes, Drambo.

  • What hardware are you thinking of, and how will you be interfacing it? Do you need analog CV for modular gear, or just MIDI over USB or 5-pin DIN? Do you already have the required interface, or are you looking for purchase advice?

  • MIDI over USB - yes, should’ve mentioned that.

Already have the hardware, including interface, thanks.

Most hosts can send midi to external gear just like you can to AU instruments.

You can probably use whatever your preferred host is.

  • Try the Condukt app… there’s also a beta version available on their website for you to test….
