Gadget drains the battery when not in use
I've got an interesting problem. I've got the latest version of Gadget with Module installed on an iPad Air 2 with the latest version of iOS 8. I've discovered that unlike my old iPad 3 or iPad Mini Retina, Gadget when not closed drains the battery when in the background. I have background refresh turned off. Under battery usage Gadget is at 50% when not using the program. Weird.

I came back to the previous version (1.0.4), but after reading your post, went to "Adjustments" and saw Network MIDI and Enable Analytics "ON", so maybe there's more than Background Audio running in the...background.
I have also the feeling it drains more battery in 8 than in 7.I wasn't sure because ios 8 came along with a new device so that's not a fair comparison. But it gets noticeably warmer than before (while the cpu has not much to do) exactly where you place your right hand in portrait mode (to hold the pad)
That's interesting you guys noticed it too. I went in and disabled Network MIDI and Analytics. Thanks for the tip.
I tested it with Network MIDI and Analytics off. I lost 7% in 1 hour with only the Gadget app open in the background and the iPad was off the entire time. Weird.
Notifications?
No I don't use notifications.
Try to put WIFI off. If that stops draining try to reset (in Adjustments) your Data network settings to default.
Turning off gadget while you don't use it seems to be the easiest solution to the problem.

Of course it is. It's just an interesting problem that popped up with iOS8 and the Air 2. Inquisitive minds want to know.
Any app that's doing work in the background will drain the battery. Happened to me with Animoog, dictionary apps, Skype, etc. The solution is to turn off background audio for that app or close it from the task manager
All valid points but that doesn't explain MY feeling about draining to much power while in USE
i'm not a beginner at "optimizing"iOS either.Allways the first thing i'll do on a new device is switching off everything(!) that wants to phone home or install updates without my permission etc.I'm not even using location services or widgets in ios 8.
I've seen this in a number of apps, also reported in this forum, latest one was launchpad but also audiocopy suck my battery dry unless I force quit it.
I've not noticed this with gadget yet, but will look out for it.
Must be bad programming because it should not do this.
