My song was on the radio today!
So appearently a couple of my fans (yes... my inlaws) sent a cd to a local radio station, and today they played one of my songs. I think this is probably the first time, at least one of the first, that a commercial radio station plays a song produced entirely in Garageband on an iPad :-)
Letterman next I guess. Wait... oh crap, he quit, didn't he? Oh well... back to work on monday then ;-)
This is the song they played:

well, this is an awesome song. i don´t see a reason, why the radio station shouldn't play it. well done, sir !
Congratulations!

Ditto! Great great song. Nice Raspy voice man. It is quite a feat to get it played on a radio station. Most are owned by a few companies across the US, and they don[t play anything that isn't popular.
Congrats!
Congratulations. Great voice, pro sounding tune.
Impressive! Great rock voice too!
Other people are congratulating you for the song. I want to add congratulations for getting along with your inlaws.
The song is mysterious. I wonder what awful thing the character did.
Congratulations! Great song, mix, and performance. Here's to more.
Thanks guys. I should add that this was a small, local indepenent radio station, and the song is afaik not in their regular rotation. Still fun though.
Wow congratulations! Great song as well. This motivates me to work ever harder on this stuff. Awesome!
Good stuff @Carlsson and when I get my Joe Cocker biopic financed we'll be round to your house...
Great song. Really, from start to the end is GB for iPad?
Amazing. Congrats!
Congrats
congrats!
Was it a Mexican Radio? I wish I was in... Tijuana... Eating barbecued Iguana.

The mighty Wall of Voodoo! I had totally forgotten about them.

This. I was trying to sort out how to say it earlier but recollections of the once mighty Joe Cocker inspired me to just say it: there are glorious imperfections in this recording. It sounds human and it sounds great.
Goes to show that it the song and the artist, more than the technology used, that makes the most difference - not that ios music is any slouch! Great song, well produced, you must have been thrilled!
Excellent! If you hadn't had said it was ipad produced there was no way I would have known.
Awesome, sounds great!

Just what I was thinking! My uncle worked with him when he was a gas fitter, Joe Cocker.
In fine voice as usual. Sublime.
Awesome, congrats Carlsson!
Awesome. Congrats on your first radio appearence.
Thanks everyone!
@syrupcore , yes, it is kinda' lo-fi isn't it? I wish I could say I aimed for this or that sound, but the truth is I just hit record and try stuff. A lot goes in the trash, but every once in a while I get something that I feel is good enough :-)
Hi @Carlson.
Congratulations! Great work. Not surprised you're on the radio...
congrats! I remember hearing a song of mine on the radio for the 1st time. It's an awesome feeling. Keep up the good work!
Awesome track and fantastic production, and congrats on the radio play. Great accomplishments all the way around.
I'd certainly be proud of that if I were in your shoes! Great sound!
I don't think it sounds lo-fi at all. Sounds pro!
Think I was trying to say that so much stuff on the radio (which this is totally on par with to my ears) has every moment in the recording completely and totally homogenized. Your recording manages to sounds clear and smooth and 'pro' and there are human moments when this or that comes in a tiny bit late or a little off key, just like every great record until pro tools and autotune, and those things are part of what makes this a great rock and roll recording to me.
