[RELEASED] SpinBud - Rotating Speaker FX

Hey everyone, I'm beta testing my new FX app SpinBud, a rotating speaker FX, inspired by the legendary Leslie speakers.

  • 3 spinning plates
  • Each plate can have 1-3 horns (speakers)
  • Adjust the frequency band of the plates
  • The motor physics on the plates (doppler, wobble)
  • Manipulate the plates with touch or MIDI
  • A pair of stereo mics (position anywhere)
  • Room reverb, input drive, tempo sync
  • AUv3 multiout per plate

Ping me for the beta invitation!

Here's a quick demo with piano, synth and pad sounds.

It def spins! Who doesn't love some rotary goodness! I've been using it with my guitar apps - very cool. Gives me a cheers vibe for some reason.

Also, a nice time to revisit OVA synth! The AU params have been fixed, and I forgot how lovely the templates sound. Recorded lots from it, will spare yall the audio- but both are good fun!

Have you compared it to Yonac's Aries yet?

  • (I dream of an MPE organ where the integrated Leslie and the drawbar volumes are per-note controlled by CC74 and pressure. Just putting it out there)

Yeah, totally different. Aries sounds fantastic. Spin Bud has a ton of presets- and I've only been testing it with guitars so far. I planned on jumping into some vocal and drum stuff later and will report back. Aries sounds fantastic with drums and vocals and a more varied "rote" lol

  • @egobeats That's my experience too! And it's the first one that could replace my Ventilator pedal.
But I need to check out SpinBud 👍🏼

  • The wobble room preset will make you sound like axel rose.

Just rolled a new version with more presets!

  • I like this a lot. If compared to the "traditional" Leslie emulators it's not as resonantly-filtered-noisy but approximately in the ballpark of the sound, with incredible depth as far as tweakable parameters. So I find it to be a really interesting alternative. If I want the super-screamy high speed black church sound I would maybe not use this but use an alternative, and if I want something a bit like that sound but with more modern control and less scream, this is fantastic.

  • Congrats! Also- thanks for tightening up OVA- between it and Binarythmic- it's been occupying a lot of my time. :)

The multi-out is such a cool feature. Love the movement I’m getting with it.

Yes, I love multiout, it's a game changer
BreakBud and Speaking of Witch also has multiout, endless creativity and fun!

    Thanks 🙏

The app review process is taking longer than I expected. I blame the vibecoded apps, they are flooding the app store unfortunately.

  • The new version is out! The tone parameter adjusted, also I increased the preset output levels as Doug pointed out on his youtube demo
