Cheese & Macaroni - jAmp Convolve
Original jam using a Fender Strat into several different Nembrini guitar amps and an acoustic guitar (piezo) each going into an instance of jAmp Convolve - a neural net powered IR cab generator. I started with the presets and tweaked a bit to try to get similar sounds to other well known IRs. Sounds good?
I think this has the potential to be a bit of a game-changer replacing the plethora of IRs out there and also to explore and create new tones. Although, @janm31415 I wish there was a bit more guidance on the XY grid - the two dots do not really represent anything, so it's a bit hit and miss finding the sound you want. It would also be good to have smoother, higher resolution graphics (frequency/spectrogram) to help. Great app, I look forward to experimenting more with it.

The beginning reminded me of the start of "Bad, Bad Leroy Brown". I'm really enjoying the hell out of this piece. Got my head nodding.
Nice! Well done!
Very nice indeed… all from a piezo pickup on an acoustic….sounds great to my ears..
Loved it!
Thanks for listening Jim, it's got a swing beat and walking bass but the changes are a bit more grungier than Bad, Bad Leroy Brown. Glad it made your head nod. Cheers.
Thanks for listening @Pxlhg @Drrabbitfoot, much appreciated.
There’s an acoustic guitar (a Taylor GS Mini) and a Fender Stratocaster - I’ll amend the OP, thanks. Glad you liked it.
Great, thanks for using jAmp Convolve
The two dots in jAmp Convolve indeed do not really have a physical meaning. The neural network works a bit like a black box so currently it is indeed a bit a trial and error approach. If I find a method to improve on it, I will add it but currently I don't have any ideas on how to implement such a feature.
Spent a bit more time with Convolve (see sound demo posted here) and was thinking more about what the x-y dots could relate to, possibly speaker size and shape - the erratic peaks and troughs which come up a lot could correspond to vintage cones or speaker damage. Perhaps some kind of smoothing is needed. Thanks for the cool app and the listen and follow - some nice guitar on your SC.
Guitar was my passion for many years but now I’m into drumming 😀. I’ll spend some time on the app next week.
Nice @pbelgium! I forgot about this little app.
Thanks for the listen. If you haven't seen it already, check out my demo video here.
This app is very clever.
I use it a lot.
Thanks for commenting @flo, glad to hear someone else is making use of this cool app.
