Sample clicks and ticks

For example

I have a one bar drumloop that loops perfectly. You cant hear its a loop.

Then I copy and paste it so its two bars but then you hear a click at the beginning or the end of the loop.

I can take the click away but then the loop is a fraction shorter so it isnt a perfect loop anymore.

What causes the click and how to get rid of it?

What app are you doing this in? Can you make a screen recording that demonstrates the issue and post a link to it?

It is likely that the loop either does not begin or end on a zero point and clicks as a result.

  • I use wavebox

I deleted the file but it happens often with drumloops that are perfect as 1 bar and have a click as 2 bar.

I shall try later the reproduce it and make a screenrecording

  • I made a screenrecording but have no idea how to show it here.

Usually ppl upload to YouTube as an unlisted video and share the link. Google how to do this if needed!

  • Make sure to enable the snap to zero-crossing tool to avoid clicks when selecting and copy/pasting audio.
(On the iPad it's on the toolbox menu at the bottom, on the iPhone in the Menu>Selection>Zero Cross).

When the tool is enabled the zero-line becomes pink.

    Thanks for the tip!

I would put it in my DAW (AEMS), trim the front to a zero crossing, snap the beginning of the clip to the bar line and then stretch the clip to end bar line of how many measures the clip is. You can’t just remove the click because, as you said, the clip is then shorter. Easy, peasy! 😎✌🏼

You can often put a microfade at the beginning and end to remove the click without changing the length.

True. You also have to consider BPM. Do you want the clip to match project BPM which may involve stretching or will the project BPM be the clip BPM. 😎✌🏼

  • Theres a few websites to share audio to youtube with no video.

This is the very subject you have just recently posted on the Cubasis forum, I have (the only one) given my vote 👍
