Best piano app with IAA?
Ok. So I got a new keyboard. And I want to record a bit of piano.
I have the free version of iGrand and wouldn't mind buying it but with no way to record it's useless for me.
I'm not looking for variety. Just the best sounds. Grand piano, maybe.
Do you think I could attach a poll?
I'm thinking about CMP Grand Piano, Korg Module...
Comments
The Korg Module with the Ivory expansion sounds great.
What's special about the Ivory, sorry? Are you just trying to make me spend?
Not up with the dedicated apps but thumbjam's piano ain't no slouch.
thumb jam needs landscape mode.....sounds are great

I always forget thumbjam! Right. Going to give it a try. Thank you
@kennyrox
I think it has...

I don't know I just think Ivory is the best sounding piano. But you're right it is expensive. It depends on what kind of piano you are looking for. Ivory is a high quality grand.

huh? It's had landscape mode for a long time.
ThumbJam's "Upright Piano" is my favorite. Lots of real piano character. Sounds like your next door neighbor's Piano. Which sounds awesome...
A hungry man feels no shame skinning the slowest rabbit.
TJ has landscape for iPad, but not for iPhone... that was intentional as I like to promote one handed play on iPhone, and all the parameter pages would be painful in landscape and/or need a total redesign. I suppose I'll need to revisit my decision with the arrival of the behemoth iPhone 6+ though!
Thanks for the upright piano shoutout, it's the one in my living room
oh the sound is lovely!
I think I am the slowest rabbit, in this case, @MrGoodyear...
Either way I don't think I'm buying Module.
Thank you @Sonosaurus for this genius app.
Thumbjam: killer upright (ultra playable ultra expressive)
CMP Grande, amazing pre Module IAA module- the Bechstein (sp? Sorry) to my ears far more refined than any of the grandes on iOS - and I've had hands on Bechstein
Part of the appeal of these two us they both can live and play on iPhone, and these are some huge instruments...Thumbjam is a pageant of huge instruments..
Thank you @littlewoodg. I'm sorry but I reckon I didn't get almost anything from what you wrote. Can you explain?
Go thumbjam.

So. Awesome.
@Macao95
Sorry. Regular prose version, I have iGrande, the Korg Modules, and CMP Grande and Thumbjam. I find CMP Grande to be the best grande, particularly the Bechstein model. It sounds like the one I used to play, and the app has a sound that is incredibly rich, detailed and responsive. Thumbjam's upright is amazing and lovely. That both are available for iPhone is an additional huge plus, as I am able to carry both in my pocket, and sequence/record into BM2,
Thumbjams awesome upright piano is just one awesomeness in its arsenal of awesomeness: features, instruments, interface (control, options, playability)

And weirdly, it's right now the one in my car.
I love Module, especially some presets such as Pad Piano, very sweet.
Ups! I bought it! And I am very satisfied. It actually inspired me. I've been playing all day. It's sweet in the ear. Did you find a way to keep it working with the iPad sleeping? What I did was opening Module in Audioshare. That way AS is in charge. It was bothering me very very much. It doesn't have standalone background audio.
@Littlewoodg: thank you for the breakdown. I kept searching in the forum and facing some comments about Module I thought it would go very good with my new keyboard. But I'm using TJ as well. iGrand... Not so much.
To turn on Module's background audio, you have to use the system Settings app, under Module in the app list.
Thank You very much @Sonosaurus. I wonder why they don't leave it there by default...
