My name is Justin Ahaus
I make experimental music under the name CapgrasSick.
Capgras syndrome is a rare neuropsychiatric disorder where a person holds a fixed, false belief that a familiar person—usually a spouse or caregiver—has been replaced by an identical imposter. It is characterized by a disconnection between visual recognition and emotional response, often causing patients to become agitated, fearful, or aggressive.
What better time in a than now in this AI realm to expose the imposters of music by creating something agitated, fearful, and aggressive! The music is nauseating and sweat inducing! Grab a doggy bag and a couple anti acid tablets! Get ready for mediocre production and amygdala mashing mixing.
I used Logic Pro, LUNA, GarageBand, Ootoo, Loopy, and AUM to capture my midi and RIDDIM EP 40 jams. For mics I used a UA SD7, Baby Bottle SL, Spark SL, Ember, Encore 200, three different vintage telephone microphone, an old CB radio speaker converted to a microphone, an old CB radio Mic, the TING, and a nice little piezo pick up microphone.
I recorded a few live drums utilizing homemade snares and kicks. I used a volt 176 as my interface and a tube amp as my preamp. I utilized an AKAI MPK, an MWAVE25, and especially the EP 40!
All of my plugins are AudioThing!

Had a quick skim through, and this music slaps! 😃 Will give it a proper listen when I get some more time to do so. It sounds like a cross between KMFDM, Wolf Eyes, and the Screamo Metal genre. I genuinely like this @CapgrasSick . I feel it aligns with my self-sabotaging nature. It also reminds me of being mad sometimes, pausing to wondering why I’m mad only to draw no conclusions, so then just carry on being mad again, lol.
