teenage engineering op-xy Like app

Hi, is there a sense to buy op z ? I’m looking for an app that will give me something like Punch in fx in OP-XY
Instant transitions, something like Otoo app in performance mode. Are there other apps like this?
Can op z do it?

Drambo perhaps? 😗🎶 Made by the makers of Otoo.

  • But I don’t know what to look for on patchstorage
I’m too dumb to understand Drambo..

I don't know anything about the opxy, except it's rather pricey, but if you're after instant transition FX, you might want to look into baby audio's transit 2.

Drambo is a good choice, too, but not quite as instant maybe.

Transit 2 in Drambo. 😎 Hehe.

  • I love the op-z. you can find them pretty cheap (compared to the XY) and it's like almost as good (except the sampling is kinda crazy, but I haven't tried it with the screen, you really don't need the screen at all for the Z)

  • Yeah the OP-Z is super solid for the money, and it has punch-in fx. And Drambo is quite close to its sequencing workflow in a way, although way deeper.

So yeah, check out OP-Z in hardware, or Drambo + Transit 2 in software. Remember, Drambo is as deep as you want it to be: if you don't use its modular side, you're still using an amazing sequencer, and that's good enough, don't feel like you're missing out.

  • Funnily, Drambo has a dedicated rack made for punch-in FX that you control by MIDI notes or just pads inside Drambo.
You can insert a different effect in each "note slot" if you want.
If that's too difficult, I'm sure we have a lot of helpful souls here

Elastic drums is worth a look. It has the p-locks that you are looking for a deep automation function, sample and synthesize engines. Universal as well.

ah ok, i found it via the search field.
strangely not listed as a preset in processor/fx

    thanks! :)

  • @rototom it’s not a preset but its own module, that’s why.

  • @timfromtheborder
are there any more modules not listed like that?

please excuse my ignorance, I'm using drambo for only six years;)

They should all be in the add module view, but here’s a list as well:

  • Also, the X-fader is great for creating transitional effects.
