Had a prolong play with this, and can say it’s a real winner. For $3, you’d be mad not to pick it up. Using this with Celestine and just messing about with the feedback, drive, noise (love the card reader option), and tone can get you all sorts of soundscapes. I see BOC mentioned, and can whole heartedly say this can create those tones pretty easily. It’s better than what I was expecting.

I agree. Far better than I was expecting. If this was a Audiothing/Hainbach plugin (which it could be) it'd be 10 bucks easy!

And definitely good for Boards of Canada and Basinski style stuff

  • Had a good go with this last night and I think it's great for the money. Really fab at adding life and character to things... Makes synth pads etc feel more alive in a lovely way. It actually reminds me of Audiothing Lines in lots of ways which is nothing but a compliment. Recommend!

So, as someone who doesn't have any tape sim app, would you go for Traverse or Reelbus or Taip or...?
I'm looking for cool sound, BOC vibe, fun to use, and works on Mac if possible (but not necessary).

Before you buy anything I strongly suggest you try the free Chow Tape Model. It’s the best pure tape emulator available.

    +1 Chow Tape is fantastic

  • Thanks for all the suggestions, don't mean to hijack. I'm checking out Chow Tape today :)

Also loads and works perfectly on Mac/Ableton.

I suspect this might have been an error. Separate versions of all their prior plugins and the desktop version is sold separately for £22.00.

It doesn’t say Mac compatible on the App Store anymore, so you maybe got in before they realised.

I wonder what that would mean for updates etc.

    Yes I noticed this.

I bought it based on @oldsynthguy ’s comment, thinking that 3 quid for an app that works on my ipad and in Ableton was a no-brainer. Bit disappointed that that wasn’t the case, but no biggie...

  • I think they need to uncheck something to make it not available for Mac, they probably forgot. Maybe you two should just delete your comments and keep schtum, hope they never notice 😅

  • Sounds like they’ve already caught on.

Going to double check when I get home.
