AUv3 Plugins Validation Tests on iOS

You can now run a plugin “validation test” in AUBE 2 (v2.2.0) on iOS, on your iPad and iPhone!

These are not custom tests, they come from the official Apple AudioToolbox API, so they are similar to the validation performed by auval on Mac.

It’s not something to run on every plugin, but if you unfortunately have a plugin crashing in any host, giving you and the dev a hard time isolating the issue, this validation may provide very valuable info.

Some reported errors should not be taken too literally, as the validation process (AudioToolbox) may be very strict sometimes. It’s sensitive to case in some fields, for example.

As someone who has been in the AUv3 scene since the very beginning (and as far as I know, of course), this is the first time a tool on iOS offers the ability to validate AUv3 plugins.

    Okay Fred. This is genuinely EXTREMELY usable !! As much as I am massive fan of your plugins and own all of them - i skipped AUBE until now, i had not much use for AUBE in my workflow cause i use really just few plugins, but cause i am working on DAW where I host AUv3 plugins, you got my money. This is REALLY handy tool, just a pity I haven't had this back then when I was implementing plugin loader routine :))))

    Also my AudioPipeline plugin passed your validator :+1:

    Just quickly checked few AudioKIT plugins, cause I had really deep troubles to make my host properly works with these, and list of factory presets without names was exactly one issues I needed to fight), I see AUBE has same problem with them so glad to see it was not my wrong code back then :)

    I am pretty sure some plugin devs will hate you for this feature, where plugin host coders will praise you :lol:
