Riffler desktop development 2026 and I’m hoping for iOS as well

I know this should be in the desktop section but I’m hoping now he’s back developing the desktop app, the iOS midi in, finally gets released. The post also gives an insight as to why development had stalled.

Anyway on the website there was a March 2026 update on the desktop app which I am very excited about. Here is the news.

Riffler has always been a single person passion project and unfortunately progress has been slow for the last year or two for various reasons. For the past two years I've been working in the video game industry developing music software which has unfortunately taken the lion's share of my time. I'm still working in the video game industry but I'm making sure to leave enough time for Riffler each week and I've been hard at work on a brand new version of Riffler for desktop computers.

I've been paying attention to the developments in the world of music software and want to make sure that the new desktop version of Riffler will still be relevant in 2026 and beyond. This has meant I've had a few false starts and have had to go back to the drawing board several times to make sure the desktop version will be something special.

Goals for Riffler Desktop:
PC and Mac, standalone and VST3 plugin.
All the features of Riffler and Riffler Flow.
Easier to use with a better user interface.
Much more powerful, varied and controllable music creation engine.
Live! All aspects of the music creation can be controlled live via MIDI or mouse and keyboard.

What's finished:
Brand new music creation engine.
Guitar sampling.
GUI design.

What I'm working on right now:
GUI coding.
Audio and MIDI coding.

Riffler Desktop will not use any AI. To ensure it will be a unique and original product it is not being created using any AI tools. So no AI coding assistants (ChatGPT, Claude, etc.) or AI image and music generators. Like Riffler, the desktop version will use procedural generation to generate music and won't use any AI music technology to generate the output.

I'll be posting regularly on this page with the latest updates and details of how to get involved with beta testing once I reach that stage. My goal is to be as transparent as possible so everybody will have a good idea of the current status of the project.

    Yeah I know but he already had a working demo of the midi in so I’m hoping now that he has more time…….
