How to recall presets across apps

I’m looking for a way to bank all of my favorite presets from different apps into categories in one place.
I have all the synth/effects apps as many of you do and have favorites saved (except for Virsyn sadly) so there is too much to keep track of.
AUM and LP have state saving which is great but that doesn’t help in a new project.
I have AUBE but that brings you to a category and then you still have to sort through apps/favorites.
I started making a list in “SessionNotes” but I’m not sure that is going to be the most efficient method. It does load as an AU though I believe, so that is a plus. Jury is out.
Of course there’s always old school paper and pencil.
Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Yooo … I’m actually working on this very thing .. I have a web app POC made up for pre-testing , before the TestFlight is ready, if you wanna check it out, shoot me a dm and I’ll get a link to you ..

  • What’s the purpose of keeping track of them all? Not saying it’s a bad idea, I just don’t use presets that often and if I do I usually just favorite them in app. Do you want data with the app, preset name, and settings values to search? Or categories like “lead”, “pads”, etc.?

Yeah exactly that: so I can keep track of them for easy recall. And by preset, I mean any sound in a plugin, whether factory or user created sound..

I don’t know about you but I have hundreds of auv3s and it’s hard for me to remember where all my favorite sounds are. Some plugins have the option to “favorite” presets or sounds, others don’t. But even those that do have the option to favorite, don’t help a whole bunch when I can’t remember where the sound even is.

So the solution we’re working is to log data on each sound: plugin, preset name, category, tags, even projects the sound is used in and what host that project was created in.

Also thinking of ways to capture full channel data with fx chain so you can recall full channels and not just presets .. there are plenty of challenges in creating all of this without the friction of manual logging but we’re making some good headway

Let me know if you want to check out the web app .. happy to share it and hear your input

  • @FizzyLizzy27. Just what @mikejohn said. I have favorites for bass, pads, fx, leads etc. but it’s impossible to keep track of them.
If I have a clue as to where I used a favorite before I can search my sessions in AUM.
A common location would be great.
“Personal favorites” from all my apps.

  • @mikejohn. I’ll message you. Thanks!
