Clear Loops Button

I'm pretty comfortable in loopy but have hit one wall. I really want to make a button that can clear loops in the reverse order that they were created, like an undo button but just for loops. I can make a button that clears the last selected loop, but it stops there. I've tried attaching the button to a basic "undo" function, but that includes everything in the undo clipboard which occasionally yields unwanted results. am I missing something? is there a way to do it?

You would need to record your clips in a predictable order to do that or implement a system to track the order clips were recorded in which is do-able but somewhat complicated.

That was my thought too. As long as you record the loops in positional order, then you can use Select Previous then clear loop with the target being Selected Loop.

There are other ways too, but all rely on having a predictable order.

  • btw, if you overdub on a single loop, you can also use Peel, but you lose the ability to play layers independently.

  • thank you both for the info. The guy whose rig I'm building hops around from loop to loop based on what he feels like doing at any given moment, so I'm afraid I just can't quite do what I want at the moment. First time I've ever said that about Loopy! I really wish they'd add a function for this, it would be so handy. Thanks!

If you want to see that happen, then the best route is to search the feedback site to see if the feature has been requested and upvote it. If it hasn't been requested, you can add a request and link to it here so that others can upvote.
