Hum on guitar input on iTrack dock
When guitar plugged in to instrument input I get a hum on recording, however if if touch the guitar lead metal plug it stops. So I notice there is no earth pin on the plug for mains on the iTrack dock, the earth pin is made of plastic. How can I stop this hum on my recordings?

Try a different guitar cable. Does this guitar and cable hum when plugged into an amp? Maybe the guitar needs it wiring checked.
A tight Noisegate. Seriously, my setup is in a location that produces the hum too. I brought some better cables, but it only helped a little bit. But a correctly set Noisegate in my DAW does the trick. There's some Noisegates in apps in Audiobus that you could stick in the effects spot and try out.
The noise gate in Tonestack is pretty decent.
Thanks for the information, I will check out these ideas, cheers.
