AUv3 icon registration / cache clearing
I’m preparing to release my first iOS app/AUv3 and it’s all going great except for one thing. On my primary personal/testing device, the original version of the app installed during testing had no icons attached. For that reason, it shows a whopping ❌ in AUM when active and other symbols in other hosts. The app icon will not display. I have rebuilt the app correctly and reinstalled, reset the iPad settings (not files), deleted and reinstalled the AUv3 standalone app and I still see ❌.
The app shows its icon in AUM and works perfectly on every other device and in every host I’ve tried through TestFlight. It only drops the icon on my primary test device.
Does anybody know how to clear the cache without wiping the iPad? My internet searches have led nowhere. Any advice much appreciated!

i had same problem with my AudioPipeline app.. i think at the end helped to delete my app, delete AUM, bumo up buikd version, install AUM again, install app again - and then it loaded right icon
Hi dendy, thanks for your reply. I tried all those things and more and nothing seems to work.
First build was 1.0, IIRC. Now it’s on 1.0.3 and I’m still looking at that ❌ in AUM.
This is the thread I posted in the Apple Developer forum. It goes into more detail.

BTW, your AudioPipeline app is really cool! Super useful.
If anybody has any ideas, I'd love to hear. Apple kindly responded to my support request with: "Developer Support doesn’t provide technical assistance to these type (sic) of questions." So I guess I'm SOL unless I do a full reset of the device with the problem icon cache. Seems drastic.
EDIT: Icon cache error resolved after updating to a new iPadOS software version (26.5.1→26.5.2). Notably, a few days ago I tried reinstalling iPadOS 26.5.1 via USB connection to a macOS device, but that didn't solve the problem.
