New amp simulator : Genome 2

Genome 2 has just been released and is available on iPad, but unfortunately it doesn’t support AUv3 connectivity yet.

I’ve just sent a message to Two Notes to ask whether they plan to add an AUv3 version or AUv3 support for Genome 2 in the future..

Wow. They must be either living in a bubble or are completely out of their minds.

Nice that we finally have something to compete with the full standalone suites of what ... 10 years ago or more now? ... that have long since fallen by the wayside.

    And then there's this ...

How much as I love their DynIR ( I have their opus which is a nice little piece of hardware a gives a free licence to the Genome 2 non suite), I am not completely sure about this release on ios. Without auv3 it feels a bit gimmicky.
The pricing is aligned with the desktop market not with the iOS niche market. The fact that you need to pay an extra fee for cross platform is not a very good move too. Modarrt handled this nicely with Pianoteq ...
that being said, they are the first to bring parametric capture technology which is the next logical step in the amp emulation world.

  • I have had the chance to visit their factory.
    Great people,great gear.
    Interesting.

  • How is it not AUv3 at that price? Bias FX 2 is like $40 for the unlocks and also not AUv3.

Has anyone tried it out? Is the tone mind blowing?

  • Bit pricey for IOS - not convinced it’s worth the money. It’s so inevitable when a load of YouTubers are flogging the same app at the same time saying things like “game changer” and “you really must try this software”, yawn.

All they need is one person to buy the suite and their dev license cost for the year is covered lol

  • Also, shouldn’t every reference of iOS be iPadOS? I don’t know if misleading is the right word because you can’t get it on iOS so there’s no tricky business. Just silly to emphasize iOS that hard and not actually support iOS.

  • Check out how many YouTubers they've sponsored: no wonder they need some money. I counted at least 10 on this list ...

  • The whole thing to me is the parametric nam captures.

For the love of god I can not find what parametric captures are included with suite and yes it will have to be AU3v to be considered.

  • No Auv3 is a show stopper. Standalone works well on M2 iPad Pro. Two Notes says "stay tuned" re Auv3.

  • I have a friend who have a Two notes CaptorX that came with a license of Genome and he says it’s awesome.

  • I downloaded it but haven't registered or anything. Sound drops out every 15 seconds or whatever. BUT, it does sound good!

For my level of skill it's way over the top (price wise). Pity, I would have enjoyed it, even with being tracked. ☺️

It comes preloaded with 25 AmpNet models inside Paradex component. You can also download more from https://exchange.two-notes.com/ampnet

There will be an AUv3 support for sure. Two Notes stated that it is in their roadmap.
