Loop intros tips
Hi all,
I've been using more loop and master based loop play start timing to make it easier to trigger stuff on the next cycle of the songs chord progression. Works great and so much better than having to hit the triggers in the preceding bar.
The only thing that doesn't play nice is with fills. Most of my fills need to play on the bar PRECEEDING the chord progression change (or at least start on that bar and play 1-2 more).
I am trying to use the loop "intros" for this. Basically create a 1 bar loop with a 1 bar intro section and then synch the PLAY to master (master is aligned to chord progression). In theory, this should work perfectly. In practice, it behaves odd.
Seems like the "intro" only plays if the clip is set to "loop" and not "play once". This isn't 100% consistent, so there may be a bug there. When is does work using "play once", it often either only plays the intro or plays the intro and then the normal loop twice. In my clip, the intro is 1.2 bars and the loop is 1 bar which may be a corner case?
I can get what I want by setting the clip to "loop" & "play intro" and then issuing a STOP action delayed by 1.3 bars. Works but is a bit more complicated.
Is there a better way?
