BLACK PULSE
FRENQ
────────────────────────────────────────

A world collapsing in slow motion.
Every breath a fracture.
Every silence a confession.
Every shadow a memory that refuses to die.
But when all light dies it is only us!

Tell me what you think about this song?

THE PULSE FADES
BUT NEVER STOPS.

  • I love this! It’s such a delicious contradiction. The lyrics are so dark and ominous, but the music is so uplifting and energetic. As I listened, I couldn’t help but think of the “Rocky” movies. I can visualize Rocky Balboa sprinting through the streets of Philadelphia, punching the bag, and doing one handed pushups, while his girl watches lovingly. There will soon be a big battle, but the good guys will always win!

  • @Paulieworld, personally, I don't have much to do with boxing, but I have to admit the metaphor you used is really in the song. It's kind of a battle. The paradox between good and evil. Man and the world. The lyrics are dark, but the music is uplifting. Agreed. Thanks for listening and for your story. frenq

  • Agree with Paul… when it started I was expecting something quite dark but it was really uplifting.
Not a great fan of the vocals I’m afraid but a big fan of the overall feel and the two guitar breaks.
The first one at about 2 minutes put me in mind of Steely Dans Reelin’ in the years which can only be good 👍

Tony, I know that you're not a fan of computer-generated vocals. Unfortunately, my ears really can't be strained in any way anymore... no sax either at the moment... sometimes I secretly still play a bit on the EWI but you have to blow less hard on that than more. I also like Steely Dan a lot, great musicians! Thanks again for your really nice response. Cheers, frenq

  • I never know what to expect from you when you come out with something but I'm never disappointed. This is no exception. I agree with all the above, especially about the dark lyrics and such an uplifting melody. Another gem.
