Thanks for all the comments. I had FOMO, but no more.

Hahaha! 😂 Exactly mate. FB itself outside of Messenger isn't worth the time. If I could find other means of directly communicating with business contacts and friends, I would.

  • I’ll just be honest here.. our page is useful and far from a sewer. Safe space for iOS users. Stop in and say hello 👋

I hope I never said your page was a sewer. It's just that Facebook itself in general is mostly one. 😅

    No doubt it is. 👍🏼
For some of us though, signing on to Facebook is just too abhorrent. Illogical or not.

Agreed, you run a tight ship over there.

Theres some nice people there for sure we know who they are but generally, you ask for a good reverb recommendation and you get flack or recommendation about anything BUT a reverb. I check it out once a fortnight i try to avoid absolutes in my thinking (like i hate it and will never look…, that doesnt serve me)…, like Gav said… LONG LIVE LPF

I feel like I do see a lot of threads on FB groups ending after three comments, with one usually being some form of “learn to use what you have instead of asking FB”. Solid advice, but not helpful if someone’s legitimately looking for advice or something specific.

I refuse to use Facebook. Period. What am I missing in the iOS Facebook Music Group?

I only use Facebook for Messenger, so your guess is as good as mine, lol.

Same. I just run the messenger app, no interest in all that other nonsense. I get annoying family who see the online dot saying 'I see you on Facebook all the time, how do you get anything done?!' sigh no

Really? 😂 Me, I have notifications for both Facebook and Messenger (and other social media) turned completely off in the settings (as well as text notifications). I have ADHD, which can be a double-edged sword.

See, when the hyperfocus kicks in, it's almost impossible to break me away from making music. It's how I get so much done in so little time. However, if the notifications go "ding ding ding" or drop down text from the top of the screen, it'll break my hyperfocus and make it almost impossible to return to my task at hand.

Most times, people don't normally type until their thumbs go sore, but I do have "that one friend" who'll text at any time throughout the day and text a lot. 🤣 Bless him, but ain't a producer got time for that when I gotta stay on my grind and put in my 9-5 daily (for myself and for clients).

Anyways, getting back to the original topic at hand. This forum is where I come for music news, camaraderie, and just the good-natured vibes of this place.

I’m glad I read this post because I’m always wondering how you get soooo much done. Killing it sir 🫡

Thanks mate. :) Yep, I gotta turn off the distractions to get my music done, or nothing will ever get done.

Definitely a better quality of comment on LPF. Its a great resource here. I just got sick of the 80% of comments on FB being less than a waste of time…. It also triggered me no one was particularly helpful but more an ego fest where no one bothered to listen or even like another’s music…. That really got to me. Not for my sake but for the sake of the community…. I remember the 70s and 80s where everyone would be interested in anothers music or playing ability… for whatever reason they had, from awe to critique ….,, rant over :)
