SAND - How do I use a single AU Midi Processor to control multiple tracks?

I want to use a single instance of Prism in SAND to control all midi tracks but cannot figure how to do it .. maybe I’m missing something obvious but it seems the best I can do is use an instance of Prism per a track in SAND .. which is definitely not what I want to do.

This is my first go in SAND .. didn’t find any useful info on this in the manual .. anyone have experience with how to do this?

  • Would the KQ Voice Plugins help with this? Supposedly they can "loopback" MIDI. That should let you move MIDI from one track to another.

I’m assuming you’re trying to put Prism inside of Sand.

You might want to keep both apps stand alone and route the midi channels from Prism into each track in Sand.
I don’t think you can route midi in a matrix like AUM can. I think it’s just one “sequencer” per track.

Yeah .. Prism in SAND .. but Prism needs a host - doesn’t work as standalone.

I don't have Prism but I can get EG Nodes, Euclidean and Fugue Machine to do this:

    1. Add MIDI tracks for your MIDI app (Track #1) and each of your instruments (Track #2, Track #3, etc.)
    2. Add your chosen MIDI plugin to an effects slot in Track #1
    3. Add your chosen Instruments to an instrument slot in Track #2, Track#3 etc.
    4. Highlight Track #2, select the MIDI button on the bottom panel and set the TRACK #2 MIDI INPUT to Track #1, MIDI Input Channel 1
    5. Highlight Track #3, select the MIDI button on the bottom panel and set the TRACK #3 MIDI INPUT to Track #1, MIDI Input Channel 2
    6. Repeat step 4 for each additional instrument track choosing a new MIDI Input Channel in each case
    7. Select the record arm button on each Instrument track (white circle turns red) and press the Sand Play Button. You should hear each MIDI channel playing through a separate instrument. If you don't, check that the MIDI plugin's Play Button or Host Sync Button has also been selected.

Fugue Machine requires each playhead to be mapped to a separate MIDI Channel within the plugin so perhaps Prism needs a similar configuration.

Ah ha - press the circle!
    Def works for EG Nodes.

Oh cool .. I’ll give it a shot and report back ..
