transfer Sampletank iOS data to another iOS device?

Does anyone know if it possible to transfer setups and multis etc, from one iOS device to another?

I have done a lot of setup work on one iPad, but I'd like to copy all of this over to another iPad with a new istallation of Sampletank without needing to go through the whole process again.

There doesn’t seem to be any access to the SampleTank files, I have ST on two separate iPads and I tried transferring setups from one to the other.
Almost two years the app stopped working as IAA, it also no longer receives external MIDI from my keyboard, does it still work for you?

I don't have SampleTank, but the discussion made me wonder if the access to files via iTunes / MacOS finder might be a possibility? Probably not. SampleTank is old-school from the fully sandboxed days.

    Works really well! All aspects.

Yeah I agree. Even those apps I have now that don't have direct access to the files have some sort of backup export function.
I've sent a request to IK support so I will see what they have to say.

Does SampleTank work for you inside a DAW? The moment iOS18 was released was the moment ST stopped working as IAA in Cubasis 3, I couldn’t and still can’t get it to receive MIDI from my external keyboard. ST still works on iPad Mini - which I don’t have. I have written and complained to IKMultimedia concerning this issue, eventually they did write back to me saying they were a small department within the company and that they were extremely busy developing new software, but there was no mention of SampleTank issues, as far as they concerned the app still worked as expected. I joined the IKMultimedia forum and came across lots of users complaining that SampleTank stopped working for them also!
I read in your last message that sent a request to IK support……. I wish you good luck with that.

tbh, I have never had issues with it. I do not run it in a DAW, but I have used it in AUM with no issues. However, the lack of AUv3 and IK's point-blank refusal to port ST to AUv3 (citing no cost benefit to them) I am now loking at replacing it, possibly with a Soundfont system instead. It's only for live gigging anyway so I think soundfonts will be fine.

I use Sampeltank Max on the PC daw though, outstanding results!

  • Do you have access to iTunes on a computer? I have a PC and connected my iPad and opened iTunes file sharing and I can see my multi’s, MIDI files and songs, and I can drag and drop them to my PC. It should work both ways. Here’s a quick view:
