Pop Drummer Integration

Hello. I feel like a tool bag asking, but I've googled until my eyes crossed and can't find much. I'm a beginner, so I need some gentle, non-genius level help. How do I get pop drummer playing in my template in the most straightforward way possible. This is my first foray into trying to use software integrations and I'm honestly ready to set the ipad on fire. ;-) Please help. Or if it already exists and you know where to find it, please point me there.

Are you using Loopy Pro? If so, load Pop Drummer as an AUv3. Choose the pattern you want. Pop Drummer will start playing when you start Loopy’s transport.

Yes, sir. Thank you for that. I'm trying to learn how to send midi commands to change the grooves, etc. I think. Not sure I'm even asking the right thing. So I can set up individual grooves for different songs basically. Thanks for being patient with me.

  • We are all gentle, non-geniuses here, proven many times.

  • One thing I do which is helpful if you are using one Loopy Pro session/template for multiple songs is to save your pop drummer presets in loopy pro's system. So I save a preset within Pop Drummer, then save a preset with the same name within Loopy Pro. This is done in the folder icon that should be on the left side of pop drummer's window header.
Then you can make a button widget for each song that can have items like selecting an AUv3 preset, also setting things like tempo. You can put heaps of actions under the one widget, thus set up a lot of parameters for the song, including the pop drummer preset you want to use.
If you're using just one LP session per song, it should load whatever pop drummer preset you were using the last time you worked on the song.
