Our hero has been beat up and still hurting but enlightened, he walks down a foggy path, retreating from the final cathartic scene. Every part of the arrangement is appropriately understated but necessary. The mournful geosax carries the gravity of the scene and the long exhale. Well done, Tony.

What a gorgeous piece! I can just float in this and continue to soak in the the way all the instruments meash and weave in and out of each other.
Lovely, reminded me of some of the soundtrack to Betty Blue....ooh as I write that a touch of Withnail and I comes in..

It makes me think of a movie that should be made to go with it: just after sunrise, our downbeat P.I. is driving his beater of an old car through mist shrouded hills somewhere in the US rust belt, heading into the outskirts of a decaying ex-steel mill town, on a job to find a missing teen. He gets a text. His wife has left him, taking his kid. He’ll doggedly keep trying to find the missing girl, as some kind of redemption. It’ll take him on a journey into child trafficking, dark pornography, and wrenching personal pain. Nick Cage, in serious mode…

Reminds me a German band called "Bohren & der Club of Gore" that plays jazz with dark slow and gloomy atmosphere. I used to often mix them with sounds of rain and thunder while working in office
And thank you for the example of soprano swam sax. This version does not have a lot of demos
