Behringer AKS Mini just showed up

Comments

  • I might well have a nibble at this myself. Plenty of knobs there for you to twiddle sir. I don’t have any minis either, I’ve been waiting ages for the Hirotrobe but this looks good.

  • I’ve just been having a look - it’s on the way as well.

  • Sounds epic

  • It does sound good. I’ll keep my powder dry for the Hirotribe though I think.

  • I want to hear a demo of what the AKS is famous for. Mad bleeping noises, lasers, special effects etc… the Jarre experience.

  • Being from NJ, I have many questions to aks about this synth.

  • I haven’t been this excited since the Korg Monotron.
And I say that with no snark at all.
Yeah, I will be getting one.

This is true, I don’t think the demo video turned up resonance at any point? I’m doubtful there’s an option for LFO rate modulation which would rule out some classic FX like the Jarre slowing LFO thing.

I’m hoping you can assign joystick to LFO modulation rate.

I’m pretty sure the video above demonstrates that.

  • It sounds epic, especially in the hands of the person demoing in the video above.

  • The AKS Mini has the same specs as the Volca Keys, or am I missing something? Keys has a delay instead of the spring reverb and no joystick but other than that? 3 oscillators into 1 filter, one LFO, one envelope.

Very similar, Beh make one that’s pretty much a Volca Keys clone named something like Pharaoh Mini.

I know. I’m just wondering if the AKS is sonically so different. The video from Behringer wasn’t too clear on that.

  • I’m hoping it’s got the classic EMS sound. I’m surprised there’s only the single demo by Behringer on YouTube. Did they only make one?

the oscillators sound pleasant but i'd still want a pin matrix.

seems to be a relatively vanilla synth with a good sound, a 2-dimensional modwheel and an atypical envelope.

i guess it really comes down to inspiration - that guy in the video is losing his shit
