    Thanks mate. 😎 Can't wait to make more music tomorrow. I've been binging Wolfgang Gartner's earlier works from the late 2000s/early 2010s and wondered where "that sound" went. Got dang it, that music is 16+ years old already?! 🫪🤯 I remember when it was fresh and new.

    All music is formulaic to a greater or lesser degree which is why AI is so worrying. But it really doesn’t help the perception of EDM when Mr Oizo (thanks for the lead) says ‘Flat Beat’ (#175 in Q Magazine’s 1001 Best Songs Ever) took only 2 hours to produce. Anyone who thinks that EDM is just a case of automating track mutes should really have a go at creating a song and experiencing the challenges of maintaining interest.

    As you @jwmmakerofmusic consistently prove Jim, you certainly know your compositional onions. And your production is always a treat. I particularly like the contrast here between the mega sounds and the chip tune synth. Looks like you’ve chalked up another hit.

    Exactly. Well, the formulaic elements of a piece are in its song structure. Roughly knowing what goes where and for how many bars can take a person very far in creating EDM. :) Also, not getting hung up on creating one's own sounds too much. Auxy Studio is basically a lot of presets and drum samples in "the cloud", although that's not to say Auxy doesn't have decent basic sound design capabilities within it. With any software and app and plugin, etc, it's knowing how to use it.
