Genomes popularity despite it’s high price while using open source amp modelling technology is puzzling me a bit though.
I get pretty incredible sounds out of the Studio Camera NAM Player in combination with lots of free and affordable Nembrini / Audio Damage plugins in AUM.
I wonder what in Genome is justifying its 10x higher price point 🤷♂️

To be fair,i also use Nam amp modeler,and I’m totally happy with it.
Is genome worth the price?……I don’t think so.
It sounds good.
Their od pedals are great,but,I’m not really convinced by modulations and reverbs.
There are,and that’s only my point of wiew,many better options on iOS for these kind of effects.
I’ve subscribed for now.
Will I keep it? I don’t know.
That being said,there are great amps in the app.
And their cabs are rather good.
Is it the game changer the whole you tube talks about?DEFINITELY NO.

Ok so I guess it’s more targeted towards people that are looking for a very good sounding all-in-one solution then.
That’s fair I guess. But yes seems very pricy compared to other all-in-one apps.
There is a lot more to Genome than NAM. For example, their parametric capture technology (which I think is called Paradex). Because the paradex captures are parametric, the knobs meaningfully recreate their function in the original amp…so one capture captures the amp’s range of tones unlike standard NAM captures that only capture the response of the amp at one setting. Paradex Is based on NAM. If I understand correctly, Paradex is an extension of the technology used to create Gigfast Lite’s parametric captures.

I have seen the Gigfast developers mention this in a forum about NAM.
The Genome guys brought this up in the Tone 3000 Discord server. Maybe they were just collaborating on the whole parametric captures thing.
