Not quite an official announcement, but sounds like it's close. No word on price yet. Maybe available sometime close to xmas.

You may be right, but iConnectvity is the one who responded with that possibility of an availability date. If 'all goes well', that is...

This is on my Christmas list. Would be pretty amazing if Santa was able to get his hands on one for me by then but I won't be holding my breath. Wish they'd announce a price. But still really happy to see this finally coming to life!

    Thanks for that @Ringleader.

Sounds to me like I'll be able to do what I wanted without having to also buy the ICM4+ by simply adding a multiport USB MIDI Interface to the host port via USB Hub. Woot! From the FAQ:

Will the host port provide power to my USB-MIDI controller?

Yes, the host port provides power to the connected USB-MIDI device. When using multiple USB-MIDI controllers a powered USB hub will be required. The host port supports 8 ports of MIDI routing.

    and

Does iConnectAUDIO4+ come with special audio routing software?

iConnectAUDIO4+ comes with the latest version of iConfig, which has a audio routing matrix for digital and analog inputs and outputs. This matrix includes digital audio from your computing and/or iOS device.

  • Nice! I'm shocked they will let you port into other devices as opposed to only running icm4+

  • One thing not clear to me is do you get the iPad cable with it? Looks like its another additional $40 bucks, still I am definitely waiting to at least try one now before I get anything else. It seems like its close to real now. Hope its not too much...

It appears you get one lightning cable with it. With shipping to US an extra cable is $50+. Bummer. With the audio pass through, I wonder if you can use two iOS devices in Audiobus somehow with different iOS versions. Like run all VIs on one iPad using iOS8, and route them into effects and Loopy on another iPad running iOS7. Will definitely need to experiment with this thing to see what is possible.

  • finally, how much?

  • There is no reason at all why that should not be possible @Ringleader :-)

  • How want to sell his iConnectMidi4+ Lightining for buy the iConnectAudio I'm interested...only for Europe

So the outputs of the one iOS device show up as a separate input in AB and vice versa? Trying to visualize the internal routing of the three audio sources (hardware ins/outs, iOS device #1 ins/outs, iOS device #2 ins/outs) + throwing AB into the mix is tripping me out. Need a manual! Anyone know approx how much latency the audio pass through adds?

  • Audio pass thru is a couple of ms.

Also - I did a video demonstrating the above @Ringleader - albeit with the iCM4+ but since the iCA4+ when it is released will also support 2 iPad connections, there is no reason it should not work the same way according to the specs.

  • Hey thanks, that helps!
