Pentatone AUv3 plugin with Loopy Pro

Hi all,

My name is Chiel and I am the developer of the Arithmophone Pentatone, an iOS music app featuring an easy-to-play pentatonic keyboard and a built-in synthesizer. I have just released version 1.1, which includes AUv3 plugin functionality so Pentatone now also works within host apps like Loopy Pro. Here is a little demo I've made:

I used Loopy Pro for developing and testing the AUv3 and even though my looping skills are extremely basic, I've been having a lot of fun with it and I think it pairs very nicely with Pentatone.

The Loopy Pro segment of the video was made using sounds from Pentatone only, sampled directly into the loops without any additional effects. It could be a lot better if I were a bit more accomplished at using Loopy Pro but I hope the idea comes across.

    I downloaded this a couple of weeks ago, enticed by the color palette and the word "free". I've had fun playing around with it. I don't understand what everything does, and it'd be nice to maybe have some more control over which five notes are selected, but it's got some nice sounds. Glad to see it's now AUV3, and I look forward to checking out your new video. Cheers, Chiel!

    Thanks! There is actually a lot of control over which notes are selected, you can play all the common pentatonic scales in all musical keys. Try the 'Moon Occident' and 'Sun Occident' modes for the Western Minor and Major pentatonic scales, or 'Moon Orient' for scales like the Ethiopian Tizita Minor or the Japanese Iwato and Hirajoshi scales. How the switching works is explained in the in app Guide, but please feel free to reach out if you have any questions!

    Thank you! AUv3 was the most requested feature on launch so I made that a priority - and I really like being able to 'supercharge' Pentatone by plugging it in to such a powerful creative environment as Loopy Pro :)

    No worries! Pentatone will adapt to the window it's in (as long as it's not too small), I found it most helpful to pin it to the side with my iPad in landscape mode, but you can also make it free floating and landscape.
