Lumbeat Drum Apps "Pads Mode" question...

Asking here as I have been trying all different ways to do this in the Lumbeat drum apps, but I cannot see how it is done or even if it is possible.

Can you set each pad to a different song name? I can name the whole "set" of pads with a generic title, however I cannot seem to name individual pads with any name other than the beat that was selected for it.

Would be handy when creating "playlists" of songs for live gigging so instead of searching through a song list you could have eight songs ready to go with each saved pad "set". So you'd call the group, say, Set one and then in that you'd have eight different named pads each one representing a song. Then another named Set two and so on after that.

This is where you simply rely on the fill pads when playing live controlled by a pedal or other external controller. Rather than a different variation of the same beat on multiple pads.

So, yeah, is it possible?

Make copies of the patterns and rename the copies as you want . The livepad name is always the pattern name.

nice work-around, thanks! And good to know what I would like to do is not possible so I can stop searching!

I seem to recall that you had to change something in the pattern to be able to save it. If you do change it, and save it under a different name, and then edit the pattern back to its original state, the lumbeat drummer will simply select the original pattern.

Actually I recall something like that now you mention it.

I think you can just make a change to one hit in the pattern to activate the Save button. Then you can change that hit back to what it was and save. The new pattern goes into the user bank.

    The save button deactivates.

My theory is the Lumbeat drummers only allow one instance of a particular pattern.

Seems strange, as I don’t understand why that’s desirable, but it is the way it works.

That is strange. Thanks for alerting me to that.
