Jamup Pro No sound via Audiobus?

Not seen Jamup Pro mentioned for a while on here but wondered if others were having problems since upgrading to iOS 8 when using Jamup Pro through Audiobus into a DAW?

I used to use Jamup Pro fine on my iPad 2 iOS 7 but now with my shiny new iPad Air 2 I don't even get a speaker icon when I route through Audiobus in Cubasis (see screenshot).

So I tried routing to Multitrfack DAW instead and although it creates a track there is still no audio.

If I remove Jamup Pro from Audiobus slot and go straight into the app I get audio no problem! Very frustrating as Jamup had become my go to guitar amp app.

I don't have any problems using Tonestack or Flying Haggis into Cubasis via Audiobus so it has to be Jamup that is the problem.

  • I wrote this back in October, I'm not sure if I've tried JamUp with audiobus since? I did a workaround with GB. that was a pain. I also did not have trouble with any other guitar app I have. I talked to Positive Grid about it, and they even posted something on their FB page saying a fix was coming. Guess I never tried AB with JamUp after the last release. Sucks if it hasn't been fixed, cuz JamUp is my go to. Can't get anything else to sound as good as JamUp, at least for metal.

I can't get JamUp to work with audiobus at all, any app. Can't get JamUp to work IAA with Multitrack DAW. Garageband IAA and JamUp does work.

I don't know what apps are the problem, but hope it all gets sorted out soon.

  • Also, pretty much the problem you describe I had to a T. No audio, not able to record any audio, in app worked perfect, other guitar apps worked great with audiobus, JamUp only worked with IAA to GB, no audiobus. I'm still on ios7. ipod touch latest, and ipad air 1.

  • Jamup XT Pro working fine on my iPad Air 2 with 8.1.2 recording into Auria, say, AB input Jamup, FX AUFX-Space, Output Auria.
Sometimes the Auria icon and transport controls in the AB tab go missing though, ellipsis instead, so I have to control the recording in Auria itself. Loading another app into input temporarily tends to fix this, after re-loading JamUp the controls then stay on.

  • Thanks @High5denied I thought I remembered a similar issue being reported a while back but, like you, thought it would have been corrected by now! Just posted about this on their FB page. Maybe it will serve to remind them to get it fixed!

  • @AlterEgo_UK, you bet! I can only imagine Positive grid has a lot going on with all they have to offer. They seem to be concentrating on the desktop version of Bias at the moment. Hopefully they can manage ios too.

They certainly spend enough time on the Bias desktop thread on this forum. In fact, they were here yesterday (http://forum.audiob.us/discussion/6358/bias-desktop-for-windowsmac). According to the iOS 8 non-compatible app list (http://forum.audiob.us/discussion/6907/ios-8-incompatible-app-list), their mastering app, FinalTouch doesn't work right either.

  • Jam up pro usually works just fine for me on AB. But sometimes it messes up if there are other apps on Audiobus bus as well. Usually it doesn't matter if I have something on the output. but it is riskier if I have something on the effects node.
