Positive Grid Spark Control Pedal - generic application
Hi
This is just as a record for the one other person in the world who might be out there and wants to know if a Spark Bluetooth Control Pedal ( for Spark Mini Amps ) is usable in other scenarios.
This is the pedal... it is still current.
If you ask PG or Ai the answer is a categorical NO. They say the pedal is firmware 'locked' to Spark amps. Not true.
The pedal is actually one of these from a company called Airturn
https://www.airturn.com/collections/bluetooth-pedals-remotes
They have an App on the Apple Store ( https://apps.apple.com/us/app/airturn-manager/id996933579?mt=12 ) which connects to the Spark Pedal and does updates and configurations.
There's a nice user manual in the App which explains the button-presses on the pedal to switch it to a generic MIDI output device, and then the app allows selection of MIDI messages to send for each foot switch.
Now my Positive Grid switch is useful on my Mac ( not an iPad user ) for any thing you like. I was trying out a Mac based looper app ( not Loopy Pro, because, you know... lol ) . It is easy to put back into Positive Grid mode too.
Happy.
