Looking for a Drum Machine to record with. Need help
Hello all, I am looking to record some drum tracks and have no idea where to start. I am a guitar player looking to record some songs. Let me tell you guys what I am looking to do. I would like to have a machine that I can play my own drum tracks, not just pre set beats. I would like to do my own fills and rolls etc.. Is there a drum machine that I can do that to record digitally? Nothing fancy, just a simple machine to do record my own beats with. I have no idea where to start. Can someone point me in the right direction? Please ask me more questions if you need any more info.
Thanks so much guys
Jason

Are you looking to tap out beats on your iDevice screen? Also, what genre(s) of music are we talking about?
@jason29307 Many views and thoughts on threads throughout the forum. Maybe search for Drumjam or Drumperfect, but that's only because I find them (especially together) to be a good solution for natural -ish drums....what I would add is that you've got lots and lots of choices....I agree with @telecharge that the genre issue is key here, along with how much actual 'playing' or programming you want to do....
There are some, but here's one of them: DrumStudio.
You can play on screen or write on tab editor.

I don't have an Idevice ipad or anything like that. I plan on recording in the genre of power pop and mid tempo punk music.
We can probably still help, but this is a forum for Audiobus, an app that runs on Apple's iPad, iPhone, and iPod. Are you looking for a dedicated drum machine or something that runs on a computer?
Ohhh I didn't know that. Probably a dedicated drum maching..
Well, you can get Caustic or NanoStudio for free (desktop versions).
NanoStudio

Caustic

Or something like this:
Hammerhead

Hydrogen

Search your local Craigslist for 'drum machine', pick a few that seem in budget and then look up tutorials on YouTube for it to see if you like the sounds and does what you want.
Most any hardware drum machine is going to let you do what you've described.
Caustic is an app the can serve as a drum machine and runs on both iPhone, android and desktop.
Check out the world's first guitar pedal drum machine, created primarily for solo guitar players, BeatBuddy. http://myBeatByddy.com . Many users have hailed it as "the best-sounding drum machine ever".

that link is weird.
I have one of these. They are pretty cool. Expensive, but well made.
The only downside is there isn't a Mac app to work with, just a crummy Windows app that's pretty bad. But this is a Kickstarter type thing so it could improve if it sells.
