  • It is an awesome app, but it could use some tweaking and refining. My first thought upon opening it was that it was just a glitcher combined with something like Werkbench. And....well, it is. But it combines them well and it is a blast to play with. As to how much they will charge - who knows?

  • Hi all,

I won't comment on the pricing, but I would love to get Yellofier on the bus, and have suggested it for a future update!

  • @Simon , i'm not quite sure what you're asking? I don't think you can "change" the Yello sounds, but you can certainly save your own. Use the Record/Slice screen, press record and use the mic to input sounds. Save it via main screen "Save/Load/Share" -> Save

  • Oh, and in my first post in this thread I said the app could use refinement. The main thing it could use would be an import function for sounds. It seems to be lacking import.

Anything that has "Open In..." (File Management apps like GoodReader, Audioshare, etc) You can use to import audio files into Yellofier. As said, Audioshare is a sweet little app and def worth it. Makes it super easy to organize, normalize, trim w/ super precision, soundcloud, open in..., and more.

  • @Simon , thanx for the AudioShare tip. I already own the app, but didn't think to see if it could be used for Yellofier. The instructions in Yellofier didn't mention it.

I still don't see the need for replacing the Yello samples. You can bring in and use as many samples as you want. Since I missed the import thing I could be missing something else obvious, but I don't get it.

  • OK, I admit it. I am slow. Are you saying that there is no way to make a song without using the Yello samples? I haven't had much time to spend playing with it, but I was under the impression I could build an entire song (4 tracks) with my own samples, no Yello.

Ok so it appears that you can import a loop, slice it up, make a sequence/song out of it, and export the song/pattern. There is no way to save the sliced up loop sounds a presets for the colors. Hopefully this feature will be forthcoming because it is frustrating getting some great sounds and are unable to save them.

Hopefully this makes it clearer what Simon is trying to say. I had to play with it myself to figure it out.

....um no...but you wouldn't have to do that it there was a way to save your own created sounds as a preset. That's kinda what I was getting at. Idk I'm confused too

  • At no time are you required to use the Yello samples. Even when using the random function. I just checked it. New Song. Recorded me talking. Edit song. Random. Still all my voice.

  • I'd see a doctor about that..
Anyone else getting the app overload fever.
I've given up trying to make any music for now.everyday there's a new app arrival waiting to be played with.
Happy days indeed, but impossible to finish a track when there's so much fun going on.

@commonstookie I have to agree I need to calm things down as I may have to go without food soon as the rush I get from pressing the purchase tab on these new apps is turning into a compulsive disorder.

Audiobus should come with a Warning to those with addictive personalities...

  • im finding it so hard to say no.
Triqtraq was my goto for building a sequence a bit 'different'.
But then yello comes along and it's free!
Not enough hours in the day.

  • Yea I can't get anything accomplished either! Also have a problem not clicking purchase

  • @Simon True. There are very few major players left to join the bus. Most commonly asked for i think is Alchemy.. I think we've all been waiting on that one. But other then that I'm already there... I only check the new apps if I hear good things from the people I respect or if it's free.. case in point. lol But yes I think the most exciting apps to join from here on out will be new to iOS also. :-)
