Audiobus works, but how about Drums over MiDi
Hi there,
actually my iPad DAW is Beatmaker 2. I am able to use several Synths over Audiobus. Mostly I can play them via midi in beatmaker 2. For Drums I got Noisepad, DM1 and Elastic Drums.
But I cannot get a Connection to play these Drum Apps from Beatmaker 2. OK Elastic Drums wont work actually, but Noisepad or DM1 should work over midi in beatmaker 2 shouldnt it?
Comments
edit: in Beatmaker 2 i set midi to dm1 or noisepad and in drumapp midi from beatmaker 2. on a keyboard or drumchannel i set a midichannel (eg 3) and in drum app also channel 3.
ios 8.1.2 on iPad Air 2
I'm sure you have already checked "midi out" is enabled on BM2. Keep in mind I only have BM2....googling noisepad midi ,it seems that noisepad has midi learn function.
So to exclude that Noisepad receives wrong notes try to set midi learn and play some keys on BM2.
Do yourself a favor and don't try to chase down MIDI Sync - midi sync in iPad/iOS land is unpredictable and generally ill advised.
You cAn add DM1 into BM2 as an IAA track, and it will sync perfectly to BM2 (add a new track select Audio Apps as the source). Don't know about the other, sorry.

Korakios: Yes, Noisepad has Midi Learn, I activated it and tried to play some keys in BM2, but no success.
B0bert0: Ok, will do that. But this is like Audiobus just recording Audio to BM2 isnt it?
Does anything like midi Bridge help for my needs? Spoiled by my desktop system, the usage of these ios things without midi makes not much sense for me.
Like using Audiobus to record, but Audiobus doesn't sync, IAA has that ability, though it is not (yet) often implemented.
Sounds like GM drum mapping vs BM2 pad mapping to me, see what notes you need to send on your target pads...
