Clever!
Briliant!
nice hack! They're pretty regularly found on craigslist for < $30.
Thanks all. Yeah, you can get a deal if you know where to hunt. The used section of Guitar Center website also has them pretty regularly. Cheap, portable and QUIET. It's actually really hard to find portable foot controllers that don't click when they're triggered. I play acoustic instruments so noisy clicking is undesirable.
Nice work! I have an older Nanokeys lying around that is missing a few keys, might do something similar with that. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Justajiva! Just ordered a white one from the midi store for 20 bucks, free shipping. It's the first version but hopefully still works ok.
Brilliant !
Nice job! You Think it will work with a launchpad?
Great hack... I was going to try Something similar with the arduino kits... I think the ototo or the kit from bareconductive can be used as a foot stomping midi controllers .. You could have large conductive material ( alum foil?) and then just spread them out and use them as foot pads to trigger midi notes

Hey Holderness. Just bought your FX bundle last night. Thanks for the killer sale! If you start on the Nanokeys project check this out first:

Never used a launchpad but midi is midi. I think the main issue would be creating sufficient separation between active pads. If using multiple rows you would probably need to raise each row higher than the last. Good luck if you give it a shot.

Good luck with that. If I recall correctly the first NanoPad isn't quite as robust/durable. You may just have to be a little more gentle with it. Give us a report after testing.
There's also the old qwerty hack: take a cheap qwerty keyboard and gut most of it, leaving some well spaced keys. You can use it to trigger actions in Loopy directly or any app via Secretbase Designs' Double Decker. http://www.synthtopia.com/content/2014/05/15/all-your-midi-are-belong-to-qwerty/
Can you plug a usb keyboard to the iPad?
Sure, with the Apple Camera Connection Kit (CCK). Many USB devices can actually be powered by your iPad. Usually it's preferable to use a powered USB hub, though. iPad battery will last longer and you can plug in more power-hungry devices or several at a time.
Thanks. I have the apple wireless. Will start mapping it to loopy.
I MADE A LAUNCHFOOT!!
Ha! Creative. How does it work? Do you have all 4 pads under each pyramid mapped to the same midi binding or what?
Yes that's my idea.. I'll try to see how it work. There is a way to connect an old launchpad to the iPad?
ok i mapped only 1 of 4 pad Because they can cancel each other's orders.
and it work fine,
I thought you might run into something like that. Thanks for the info.
