Based on that last comment, I bought it just now, I can see, even without being able to edit the presets, being able to use this in mixing. The effects sound fantastic. That being said, I wouldn't argue against access to the controls!

Thanks for pointing that out, I should have made that larger in my original post.

$4.99 is an introductory price. For content, we are using some of the same effects as on our VoiceLive 3 and VoiceLive Touch 2. These units sell for between $500-1200, so at $5 these effects are an amazing value.

That may be the best review I have read so far, brought a smile to my face. Glad you had fun with the app.
This was honestly more fun than I expected
The App may be targeted at vocalists but there is absolutely nothing stopping us from throwing what ever sound we find at it with sometimes totally hilarious results...
I found my self laughing out loud when watching TV and playing the sound thru the app while pitching the dialogues up and down at will
@Brenden_TC Thanks for the info!
I really like both apps. Couple of quid extra to have the effects on my iPhone works for me.
It also means that on the iPad i can use both apps to combine 2 fx via audiobus.
It would be good to control the fx parameters. But I do like the 50 you are given (they are high quality).
I personally found it quite a process to get something usable and un-robot-like with voice synth.
The question we all really want to know: does this give my awful, pitchy vocals a clean, non-robotic, corrective shine? (or: how good is the autotune for non t-pain style vocals?)
@Hmtx said:
There's zero control over the pitch correction, it's chromatic only, so if you are off-key it will correct it to the nearest chromatic note, which may well still be off-key. Basically if you can't sing in tune this won't help you.
^ that's good to know thanks.
@Brenden_TC Nabbed. Would love to see MIDI Learn for recalling patches A-D live. And parameters when you get to it
This tipped the scale for me. I was sitting on the fence over Voice Jam Studio but, like others, I really only wanted the FX. At $5 I can't pass it up. Thanks TC!
1st impression - surprisingly good for the price of a sandwich
@Brenden_TC We have had a lot of fun with the app. As everyone else has said, being able to tweak some parameters, and MIDI switching between favorite presets, and being able to save the presets would be awesome.
@hmtx There is a Gentle Pitch Correction setting (2 or 3, actually). Either I was nailing every note kicked back vamping on the couch, or it's a lot more transparent than the T-Pain-style Hard Pitch Correction. FWIW

I smell a new marketing slogan. Voice Rack: FX, more fun than your lunch
@Brenden_TC said:
Haha, nice. I used to be in marketing, so I feel your um, joy
I don't know, I've had some fun lunches before... But seriously, the app sounds fantastic, it's nice to hear gender effects, octave doubling, etc that actually tracks well. Looking forward to further developments!
Can VJS also be used as an IAA or AudioBus effect node with other apps? Or can you only use it with the built in looper?
@Brenden_TC: I just downloaded this app and am finding the effects very high quality.
One feature suggestion: I also own your VoiceLive Play GT hardware unit. One thing I love is that the harmony effects track the played chords. Is there any way to add that feature here? You could either track a pre-loaded file or the input of an Audiobus connection. I think it would make a great app even more powerful.

Thanks for downloading the app @TrustButVerify. The harmony effects is a beast in itself that we would love to bring to iOS, it is going to take some work but if people like you ask for it we will try to deliver.
Would you prefer that as a standalone app, or as part of a larger effects app?
@Brenden_TC said:
Standalone app definitely. Then we can run all 3(?) of your apps at the same time!
@Brenden_TC: I would love it either way.
I gave it a whirl and have one problem to report and a couple of highly desirable feature requests.
PROBLEM: Synth Bass Drum selection has an extremely low gain/input level. Perhaps this requires some special vocal technique but I suspect it's a bug. I tested with both built-in mic as well as a USB mic.
FEATURE REQUESTS:
Input level control in case it's not being used within Audiobus.
Tap tempo so the delays/echo FX can match a beat. Maybe other FX would benefit by this as well.?.
The ability to rotate the UI for use in portrait orientation. -this would be nice but not essential.
Hopefully/probably this is already on the list but, eventually, midi assignable presets (at least A, B, C and D presets).
Great work in any case! Very cool to finally be able to experiment with some (affordable) professional vocal FX.
Oh yeah, a wet/dry control would be very nice as well.
Popeye, Cylon etc are fun but I'd love to see a serious vocal app with TC Helicon's full chord tracking harmony capability but also with a decent vocal-centric compressor and adjustable pitch correction. I know this wouldn't be cheap but I'd pay handsomely for this. I bought Voice Jam Studio, looking forward to trying out the cool guitar solo effect on a prog track at some point.
MicSwap Pro just got Audiobus compatibility last week and it's been running well, so combining it with these other TC vocal apps make for a great sounding vocal recording.
I was just reading that Paul from Cynic uses the TC Helicon for his vocals. I'm not really a vocalist (yet?), but it could be fun to pay around with.
Just bought micswap pro with the tc vocal app. Yes please add editing parameters but thanks for making it also available on Iphone
