Can you open ARK files on the iPad?
I found a SoundFont of Kawi K4 samples that have the extension .sfArk. Good reader doesn't open it and there's no option to open in bs-16i. Is there another app on the iPad that will uncompressed it?
Thanks.
Here's a link to the K4 sounds for anyone who is interested:

It's my understanding that .sfArk is a compression algorithm for soundfonts. You should be able to decompress the sfArk to get the .sf2 files. Here's a link to a the decompressor, but I haven't tested it....

Yes, I think @funjunkie27 has it right. I remember finding some Soundfonts that were in that compressed format and I was able to turn them into sf2's on PC. There are other formats too, like .sfpack. I remember that Caustic plays at least one of the formats that bs-16i does not.
Thanks funjunkie27 for the link.
I'd be curious to hear if it works @mkell424.
Sorry I just checked the link and it's a Windows program. Unfortunately I've got an iPad and a Mac. I did find a website called Cloud Convert that converts files from your Drop Box, iCloud, or Google Drive. I can't get it to work from my iPad. If someone wants to try it here is the web site and the original Kawai K4 soundfont. It's web based so you don't have to download any software.

There's a Mac application called Polyphone that will let you convert SoundFonts. I think it will convert sfArk files. I haven't found anything for the iPad.
Yet another great thread for those interested in such things. I am also a Mac user, so I'd love to hear what the solution is. I do have Polyphone, but I haven't tried converting files, so I'd love to hear how others fare with this.
Maybe this is something AudioShare could handle in the future?

CloudConvert also have an iPad app.
But it failed to convert the file to sf2
They also have the K4 in .sf2.....

Nope that link is to the sfark as well.
But Polyphone did read it so I saved it as sf2 and its here for a while. (Till space runs short)

That became a bit of a mission .....
Glad you found a solution.
Thanks BiancaNeve.
