wired & weird sound problem
hi guys,
i have a weird problem:
when i connect the ipad to an external speaker or any external device there is no sound, but when i connecting headphones its all ok.
can some can think what this is all about?
Comments
How are you connecting to an external speaker?
from the headphones jack to the line input of any speaker (and any cable) and also to my sound card inputs.
Is this something that worked before and has now stopped?
Are your speakers active or passive? If they are passive and you connect direct to them you may need an amp.
What type of soundcard are you using? Computers in-built or external audio interface? How are you then trying to monitor the iPad output? Into a DAW? Playing back through a media player? Where does the audio from the soundcard go and how do you listen to it?
Provide us with a bit more info on your set-up and we have a better chance of helping you find the problem.
Suddenly it started working,
I did not give more details because I kinda knew it was a problem of the iPad.
Before asked i reset my device and it did not help, for a few days.
Now suddenly it works, but afraid it will happen again.
I have no idea of it can be.
Flaky cable connection to the iPad headphone jack?
Glad its working for you
Nothing more frustrating than intermittent problems until you actually find the source of the trouble.
On a related note, my iPad Air 1 has had its headphone socket slightly knocked in. Not sure how this happened. Might have 'just happened' or I might have knocked past something while I had headphones plugged in.
The result is that most headphone jacks now won't fully insert and make a proper connection. My solution has been to take the collar off my Sony headphone socket giving it enough leeway to insert. For speakers I now need to use digital out.
But beware...
