Managing IAA
I've been wondering how best to ensure IAA isn't running in the background when not desired. I used AudioShare with a file in the input slot, of the recorder, and 76 synth as the only IAA effect. I them checked with an app called System Stataus (link below) and saw the results in the pic below. I'm wondering if there are better ways to accomplish this, and if there's the possibility that this approach isn't sufficient to see all IAA instances.

That's the one I use to look for IAA leftovers.
Me too, sometimes I'm surprised to see what's hiding in there (synths and fx, but also a lot of weird sounding Apple etal processes that I would also like to shut down)
@funjunkie27 / @TedBPhx / @Littlewoodg - why this app as opposed to the million others like it? I've been meaning to get one, but there are so many to choose from.
It's the first one I got. Still works. Has a memory cleaner that appears to work - makes Auria happy when I run it.
I need something like this. The other day, everything was shut down (so I thought) I put the iPad in standby with 70 odd pc battery. Came back to it a few hours later and it was on 2%.
Looking at it - it doesn't seem to let you kill processes - how are you doing that when you find a rogue? Just opening and closing like normal?
I use this one, because it takes care of memory and storage in one click. Memory & Disk Scanner Pro - Check System Information by Phan Minh Nhut

Thanks Morris, will check that out. Good suggestions here.

Not implying there aren't better solutions. That's what I'm after, if they exist. I just want to see how others are dealing with it.
Thanks for the suggestionnMorris.
@funjunkie27 and @TedBPhx - Thanks. As I stated above, there are so many of these apps it freezes my brain and I end up not buying any of them. I've noticed with my Air 2 that I need to be more careful about apps that don't close because I use more of them at the same time.
I'll also check out the one Morris mentioned.

Wow, that's crazy. I had this with my android phone but never with any of my ipads.
@xen - yes, I just open then close.
@MrNezumi would you say that you can run more music apps on air 2 than air 1? I know that it's mostly audio apps that are affected by ios8 but I've tried the same ram demanding AB set up on 7 and 8 and had only one buffer related glitch (at least this is what it sounded like). My thinking is: if more ram makes creates more headroom maybe it's time to switch from air one seven to air two eight?
The Memory & Disk Scanner Pro - by Phan Minh Nhut doesn't do anything more or better than Battery Doctor HD, which does it more elegantly and monitors system and charge/maintains battery. (I got both BTW)
What I am wondering if there is a way to disable processes, on scanning I see shit passing by like the wall street statistics and stocks etc...I never asked for those and will never use them...
In windows I open task manager and disable or uninstall this crap.
Is this possible in iOS?

@supadom - I'm not a power user; I generally just have a few apps going at a time. I went from iPad 4 to Air 2 and saw a noticeable improvement. I play guitar a lot and the Air 2 allows me to run some more effect intensive set-ups at lower latencies.
Overall I am very satisfied with the Air 2, but it wasn't a panacea for all my problems. Or perhaps I should say I traded some old problems for new ones. But, no regrets.

I know, I'd been using my pad just in the iTrack dock for about a week, which charges the iPad. Of course once at 100% it is still receiving charge. I thought it had killed the battery. It did that fast discharge twice, despite doing a couple of resets. It seems fine now though. I left it on standby with about 95% battery overnight the other day and when I got to it the next evening it was on 94% so things seem to be back to normal.
I'd had been culling some Cubasis projects, opening them and then deleting so I'm guessing I had some IAA rogues hanging around in the background that were causing the drain.
