Shure - New Mics and a Audio Interface for computers and iOS announced Today (Jan 6, 1015)

They look very interesting, nice that iOS seems to be a primary focus! link
And an iOS app for it all as well.

  • Looks interesting. Doesn't mention if the audio interface requires power but I think I saw it used in the video on a sofa without a power cable.

  • These look really interesting. Nice design on the lightning mini mic and the desktop mic with the kickstand.

  • Says it provides phantom power for condenser mics. Doubt that it is iPad powered.

  • Does look interesting. The MVi interface is probably what interests me the most, though I would be curious about the price point of these. I just bought a Blue Snowball USB microphone ($49.99) which is my first microphone of any kind. Shure is a great manufacturer, so they should be a nice new option for iOS hardware.

  • I've got a standard Shure mic and it's brilliant, will definitely be interested in their iOS stuff when it's available.

  • that's some handsome gear.

  • A quantum leap for IOS microphones.

  • @TedBPhx, maybe it has an internal rechargeable or standard battery?

  • Maybe. One audio in, one out, 5! EQ presets, no midi. Not impressed.

  • @TedBPhx - Download the Brochure, last page with the specs the MV88 says "Powered through the Lightning Connector Only", all the others say "Powered through Lightning Connector or USB Connector".

  • Good. Still very limited I/O

  • They look fantastic! I hope they are metal and not just 'metal-look plastic' :o)

  • Excellent. I want an mv88. They could keep the preset modes though.
