All of the above? All the indie devs in the poll are awesome, I don't want to choose one above the others.
Just try not to tap "show results" before you vote.
It is difficult, @richardyot. I am/was between two of them...
Yeah, when you add support and updates, while all are great, two really jump out as above and beyond. Tough call
wonder who will win!....
Honorable mention, devs who just missed out by one vote in the nomination thread:
Giel Bremmers, Korg, and Rejean Poirier.
All the devs names were taken as listed in the App Store, so if you're wondering who they are and want to support their efforts, just search the App Store by name.
Surprised not to see Chris Rice/Holderness Media in that list. All great candidates but I voted for Tony Saunders. MidiSequencer had 7 big updates, fueled by great communication with his users here....and it's also the app's 1 year Birthday today too. Fitting.
I don't think there's been a good deal of penetration with Different Drummer still, but Peter McClard is very responsive and rolls out updates like a machine!
I like the idea/effort, but am unhappy about the limiting final list. No disrespect to any of the (worthy) people upon it. I know folks feel the same about the Oscars or the Booker or any damn 'short list' that is by the nature of things, well, short. But still.

Word.
Maybe add the/some app names?

I'm helping to build a brand name, sort of like Rob Papen. No actually I'm just lazy and took the easy way out. I thought of listing the apps, but figured people could just search the App Store by developer, so yeah maybe I am helping build a brand name as well.
Here:
Anthony Saunders - MIDI Sequencer
Audiobus - *You are here
Fiddlewax - Fiddlewax Pro, Yellow and Blue
Kymatica - Audioshare, Sector, AUFX...
Sonosaurus - Thumbjam, Drumjam...
I guess this why the Oscars have 'Best Movie', 'Best Director', 'Best Set Design' etc.
I agree with Doctor Syrup on listing the apps, but also found myself (at the deep cellular level where impulse purchases are made) ranking the list by the apps I like the most etc., rather than the all round Dev criteria....
Maybe at some point we could have a FAD 'Golden Circle' (like a golden shower but less pissy), to which Devs who walk the walk are inducted....also need suggestions for who the appropriate MC might be for the imaginary event we are unlikely to ever have etc.
EDIT: Just read this back: Hate 'Golden Circle', was thinking of Hall of Fame or Ring of Honor etc, but as every teacher I ever had would scrawl on my report card: 'Must. Do. Better.'
Golden circle is just filthy. No matter how you qualify it. Filthy.
Admit it @funjunkie27 is your real name Peter McClard?!
Lol...I was wondering when someone would ask that question. Real name is Russell. I just try to promote DD, since the dev mentioned at one point that he was going to stop supporting it due to lack of sales.

The main thing I wanted to focus on was all around dev criteria and the devs themselves, so that people could get into apps they know are reliable, and the devs could get recognition.
There are a lot of good music making apps in the store, many of which aren't well supported, and it's a pain having to deal with them when they undercut what you're trying to do. In the iOS climate support is important, maybe even as important as the apps themselves. Afterall, what good is an app if it doesn't work like it should? Hopefully this helps that, even if just a little bit.
I'd vote for all of those listed plus a few others.
