Awesome!
Huzzah! Congrats and thank you @holdernessmedia.
Bundle costs $1 more than one by one for me ($8.99 for the bundle vs $7.96 for 4 @ $1.99). Going to hit buy on the bundle anyway. So stoked to have theses on my phone!
Requires iOS 8 which could be a bummer but thankfully I only updated my iPhone. Any new features unique to the iPhone version?
Yeah same here for me @syrupcore.
Ha, same here @tgig. iOS 8 on the phone only.
Hey guys, as usual I was beat to the punch with posting!
Holderness FX Bundle for iPhone ($8.99 USD)
I was originally planning to do the official launch earlier today, but since Apple’s servers are slow, most likely due to EU price changes and subsequent new contract agreements for developers, the apps are only recently showing up in the stores, so I’ll be “officially” launching tomorrow.
PLEASE READ below for a thorough breakdown on bundle pricing as the “complete my bundle” price will vary from person to person and can be confusing to understand.
I'm reposting what I wrote in the iPad Musician group so that there is as little confusion as possible and people can make an informed purchase.
Why not Universal?
I know some people may wonder why I chose to do separate iPhone versions, so I’d like to explain the 3 main reasons:
iPad users can now run both the iPhone and iPad versions at the same inside Audiobus/IAA.
The iPhone versions are fully featured, but have a brand new Portrait layout designed to work well using one hand and your thumb. They should feel comfortable on
the iPhone 5 up to the 6 plus. iOS 8.0 is required and I recommend using an iPhone 5 or newer, although they will all work on a 4s. iOS 7 support was dropped as there
was no other good way to exclude the iPhone 4, which will not run Audiobus or IAA and is too underpowered.
Bundle and Individual App Pricing
I wanted to make this release a fair deal for both users and myself, and I’ve priced things carefully to make it a win/win situation for just about anyone.
The bundle has an intro price of $8.99 USD so that anyone who purchased Echo Pad and/or the Holderness FX Bundle for iPad can get the entire iPhone bundle for just $4.00, which is $0.99 for each new app.
If you’ve already purchased Echo Pad on sale below the normal $4.99 price, or depending on what they paid for the whole bundle, then your “complete my bundle” price can vary and may cost up to a few bucks more. The individual apps have an intro price of $1.99 for those who already own Crystalline for example, but don’t want the whole bundle and might just want Crystalline Mini.
If your bundle price is showing more than $8.00 USD, then you can just get the individual apps at $1.99 each.
The “Complete My Bundle” pricing for any bundle is quite confusing by nature and Apple doesn’t really explain it to users, but it does actually make sense once you break it down, which I’m about to do here.
Here’s how it all works.
“Complete My Bundle” pricing is based on what each individual person has actually paid for any apps that are included in a bundle, which is subtracted from the full bundle price. For example, this means if you purchased Echo Pad below the normal $4.99 USD price, got it for free with a promo code, OR some variation of pricing for the iPad bundle which included Echo Pad, your “Complete My Bundle” pricing may be a few bucks higher than $4.00 USD. If your “Complete My Bundle” pricing is higher than $8.00 USD, you can purchase the apps individually at $1.99 so you get them for a total of $8.00 USD.
So...
If you bought Echo Pad on its own for $4.99 USD, your “Complete My Bundle” price should be $4.00. ($8.99 bundle price - $4.99 already paid for Echo Pad)
If you bought Echo Pad alone on sale for $2.99 USD, your “Complete My Bundle” price should be $6.00. ($8.99 bundle price - $2.99 already paid for Echo Pad)
If you bought the Holderness FX Bundle for iPad, your “Complete My Bundle” price will vary based on the calculated price you paid for Echo Pad after bundle discount.
If this is higher than $7.99 USD you can just buy the apps individually for a total of $7.96, or buy only the ones you want at $1.99 each.
I hope this all makes sense, it is very confusing by nature and unfortunately there isn’t a whole lot Apple could really do to explain this upfront without scaring people off, which is why I think they’ve just mostly
remained silent about it. It does break down correctly, even when it might not seem that way at first.
Here's the new promo videos, I've got one more that is "iOS only" that I'm trying to finish tonight.
@holdernessmedia bundle bought within seconds of finding out. The best surprise it didn't take 500mb of space on my iphone. ;P

Thank you!
Here's one more promo video processing iMaschine.
@HoldernessMedia
Thank you so much for iPhone versions!
And thank you! a second time, as I now have two instances each of the set on the iPad...two cool, too cool.
Huzzah!
Now I can finally have Swoopster on my iPhone
Thanks for the Bundle!
Congrats for the release! I have a problem, though: I first completed the bundle for iPad and then wanted to complete the bundle for iPhone too but it won't let me do that. It says complete my bundle is not available because one of the apps has already been used to complete my bundle (must be echopad) after asking me for the password. How can I get this to work? Do I have to buy each of them separately now for the phone? Has anybody else come across this? Or should I try to undo completing the iPad bundle with the 14 day returns option and then get only the iPhone bundle?
I figured I'll just buy them individually and pay a little more.
You're a good person.

Always sat at the front of the class, didn't you?
@Munibeast: Sounds like something Apple needs to fix/clarify as there are other developers who might run into the same situation (i.e. they have several bundles with overlapping apps.) Personally, I'm surprised that it didn't work.
Yes, it could be a problem for others too but probably not that common. I just spent 80 cents more than with completing the bundle so no worries.

You're welcome! That was the idea, two instances on iPad

@Munibeast +1 to this, you're a scholar and a saint!
I'm sorry for any confusion everyone, I'm trying to sort this out with Apple. I'm pretty damn frustrated with the app bundle pricing confusion, I've just received several reports from users that are seeing the full iPhone bundle price at $8.99 even though they already own Echo Pad, so I'm trying to get this clarified.
For the time being, I recommend just buying the new individual apps at $1.99 each if your bundle pricing is showing as above $7.99.
@HM: Any chance they got Echo Pad via promo code and/or by buying/completing the iPad Bundle first?
I can say that I completed the iPhone bundle, and iTunes is reporting the correct price for the iPad bundle for me, but I haven't actually tried to buy it (no functioning iPad.)
Either way, I'm gonna go warn some of the devs on TouchArcade about this behavior - there are some 'X' and XY' bundles where all the X apps are in the XY bundle...
Real life example: Tin Man Games

4 bundles [1-3]&[4-6]&[7-9]&[1-9]

That's what I'm wondering as well, I just spent a half hour on the phone with Apple trying to clarify exactly how the "Complete My Bundle" pricing is calculated for people who already own the iPad bundle. They escalated it to higher ups and should be getting back to me soon.
I think what is happening is that the AppStore automatically calculates the discount applied to the "Complete My Bundle" based on the order in which apps were purchased.
For example, if you owned Crystalline, Swoopster and Stereo Designer for iPad, then purchased the iPad bundle, you could have gotten Echo Pad for free. In that case it makes sense that the AppStore would automatically calculate the cost of Echo Pad as $0.00 and therefore you would unfortunately see no discount for the "Complete My Bundle" price.
Alternatively, if you paid $4.99 for Echo Pad on its own, then completed the iPad bundle afterwards, you would receive a $4.99 discount from the iPhone bundle's current $8.99 price, so you would have a "Complete My Bundle" price of $4.00.
I'm betting that is what Apple is going to tell me once they figure their own shit out.
Unfortunately this is causing a lot of confusion for people, which sucks for me because I tried hard to price everything fairly to do right by my users, and this complete my bundle stuff is completely out of devs control.
Just to say that I bought Echo Pad first, then bought other apps as they were released, and finally completed everything with a bundle. The price asked is £6.99. It's obviously cheaper to buy them individually, which is fine, as they are worth this price and more, but I don't think Apple is following the rules you've outlined above. Just so you have the info. I did only pay £1.49 for Echo Pad, so don't know if that makes a difference.
Shoot, I can't remember now if the bundles I already paid over the bundle price were labeled as "Get" (as in free) or as "Download" (as in owned) but there were two bundles where I ended up getting freebies. The individual apps DO NOT show up as discounted prices (in your example, you only get Echo Pad for free if you "complete the bundle" if you go to buy Echo Pad it would be at full price.
The bundles have been explained very poorly (and are actually hard to find in the app store since they're no longer featured) and have confused many. Seems they have been popular along the iOS gaming crowd - lots of devs are bundling all their games and setting the price at one or two games' prices cheaper.
It's seen as a nice bonus, especially for those who paid for apps at full price (i.e. people who didn't wait for $0.99 sales...)
I'll stop now and say that I've been having a blast with Swoopster and Caramel this afternoon. Can't wait until I get home and can play with them with my guitar. (Yay, weekend!)
EDIT: After talking to TA users - several people have reported that apps obtained completing one bundle did not contribute to other bundles. Another example:
Crescent Moon Games (Demonrock is in both the RPG and Strategy bundles)
https://appsto.re/us/yMefY.i
Here's what happened to me exactly: I owned echopad, swoopster and stereo designer. After reading HM's announcement that the iPhone bundle is out and the way both bundles should add up to a little extra discount I completed my bundle for iPad for € 5 something. Then when I tried to purchase the iPhone bundle it showed as complete my bundle for 7,20€ instead of 8,99€ because I already owned echopad. But when I pressed purchase it would ask for my password and then tell me that I couldn't complete my bundle because one of the apps had already been used to complete another bundle. So I could only buy the new mini apps separately. Not a huge deal at 2€ per piece so it's all good as far as I'm concerned. Plus I have officially been called "a good person" by a very good other person and "a scholar and a saint" by another great person for just under €0,80! Now that's what I call a bargain :-))
I started off being sarky and now I'm feeling jealous.....
I owned echo pad and had the 8.99 bundle pricing as well.
@syrupcore said:
Likewise, tho I can't remember if I got it on discount or not.
Their (Apple's) math does not quite agree. I paid $1.99 for Echo Pad, $3 below its normal price. Therefore I should have seen a bundle price of $4 + $3, or $7. But Im seeing $8.99 with Echo Pad not showing any price.
Not that I'm going to quibble with you (@holdernessmedia) about a dollar here or there, it's just the math failure niggles my OCD.
