Video Tutorial..How I Mix a track in Cubasis...HQ Audio. Headphones Recommended

This video shows me mixing the track I started in the Behringer UCA 222 video and adding some more instruments including adding some Guitarism and using the effects in Cubasis..Normally I would spend a lot more time but for the sake of time this gives you a good idea of how easy it is to mix in Cubasis and again how stable it is inside Audiobus. I would suggest that when listening you use headphones. This only covers the basics for people who are interested in learning how to start mixing. I hope that this is of some use to you guys.

  • Thanks for that - very informative! I look forward to the "production tricks" video!

  • Nice video. Very helpful. Thanks.

  • Some of those mixing tips cam in very handy as I had just finished recording a tune, which I have now uploaded to Soundcloud (link in Creations section)

  • Great video. Thank You.

Thanks for the positive comments..I really enjoy working with Cubasis and you can do some neat production tricks in there real easy, which I'll go into in another video..The effects could be better and automation would be amazing so I hope in future updates Cubasis will get those..I think it's a good idea to pick a DAW that you can work with and get on with and then stick with it and learn as much as you can, then use it as your main workhorse, for me Cubsasis ticks all the boxes for my workflow.

  • Yeah it really helped me in deciding if Cubasis was for me or not. Looks like all signs point to 'not right now'.. If it went on sale I'd deffintely get it but right now it looks like BM2 is still better for my needs. Also if they continue to up their game without uping the price I'll pick it up for the full $50.

  • @Ryan thats cool, and the point I was trying to make is that everyone has a work method thats good for them, I have BM2 and did some dubby stuff ages ago, love it as a drum machine. But didn't get on with it as a DAW..I'm glad it helped you because it is a pricey app and at the moment still lacks some good FX and Automation which is a must..but I love the way it works for me.

  • So true. Automation is super important. BTW, curious to if Cubasis will allow a mid song tempo change? I haven't found a way to do it with any of my daws.

  • Thank you so much for your tutorials. I owe you and the other guys on this forum so much for all the help and motivation you are providing newcomers like myself. So grateful and totally in awe of your technical knowledge and skills.

  • @Jomodu thank you glad you found it helpful. The thing to remember is there is no real right or wrong way to mix..they are s few simple rules to recording sound, but the mix is pretty much down to personal taste.
@Ryan I dont think you can change tempo mid way through, I wish you could too. The only app that i know will do this is Symphonix Evolution in that you can change tempo and even time sig as oftern as you like.

  • Ah... Tempo changes are a major thing for me. As someone who enjoys playing punk and metal it is imperative to change the tempo mid song. I do believe I'll head over to BM2 and ask if that's something they can do. :-)

  • Thanks for the video! It's great to discover new features by looking at how others use a familiar tool!
